SUMMARY
Under minimal supervision, the Environmental & Safety Coordinator leads all Environmental
and Safety programs throughout Bay Cities. The Coordinator ensures all work environments; office and plant are safe and in compliance with all OSHA Standards.
JOB FUNCTION/PURPOSE
· Understands that continual personal growth is necessary and is intentionally improving year after year.
· Monitor staff to evaluate if health and safety laws are being followed.
· Assess equipment and machinery to gauge if they are in safe, working order.
· Investigate on-site accidents.
· Create plans to improve health and safety in the workplace.
· Educate staff on health and safety protocols.
· Prepare reports for management.
· Meeting with the management team to define EHS goals and objectives.
· Training employees on health and safety policies and best practices.
· Conducting inspections and identifying hazards and EHS violations.
· Providing solutions and intervention strategies for hygiene, health, and safety hazards.
· Implementing new health and safety protocols and measures to ensure compliance with regulations.
· Monitoring operational processes and employee activities.
· Generating assessment documentation, incident and accident reports, and health and safety manuals.
· Reporting to management, OSHA, and other regulatory agencies.
· Preparing and submitting health and safety compliance documents to the relevant organizations.
· Keeping abreast of the latest EHS trends, policies, regulations, and best practices.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & COMPETENCIES
· Bachelor’s degree related to the EHS field or commensurate experience.
· Minimum 2 years of manufacturing experience, at least 2 years as a Safety Coordinator or Environmental, Health and Safety Coordinator.
· Knowledge of OSHA Standards and Compliance.
· Familiarity with air permitting, spill prevention control and countermeasure plans, wastewater/storm water discharge permits, storage tank regulations, Emergency Planning, and waste disposal regulations.
· Strong technical and organizational skills in addition to excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Self-starter with the ability to develop strategies in line with the company's business vision.
· Ability to handle multiple projects within a fast pace work environment.
· Strong interpersonal relationship skills.
· Systems knowledge (MS Office, Outlook).
· Bilingual in Spanish/English preferred
· Valid Driver's License with DMV evidence of good driving record.

· Work environment includes front-office and manufacturing in California. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
