In this role you will lead interdisciplinary project teams throughout all project phases, from inception to finalization. Project teams may include members from Customers, MD&A divisions, sub-vendors and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) - MD&A’s parent organization. Project management activities include setting marketing and commercial strategies, proposal generation, commercial negotiations, technical and commercial management of contracts during project execution, and final project closeout. This role requires a combination of commercial, technical and project management responsibilities. A project director is utilized when strong matrix-based leadership is required due to strategic, complexity, commercial and/or long-term considerations.
Job Responsibilities:
- Work with sales personnel to match hardware and service solutions to potential opportunities.
- Work with Engineering to provide technical marketing guidance on product development.
- Develop the commercial strategy in response to customer specifications, optimizing MD&A’s offering.
- Create proposals in response to customer RFQ’s. Lead MD&A/MHI teams to integrate pricing, commercial, technical and schedule content.
- Present MD&A offering to customer representatives (commercial, technical and schedule).
- Negotiate all aspects of the contract including pricing, general terms and conditions, technical exceptions, schedule and commercial terms.
- Be the customer point of contact during execution to manage the flow of commercial and technical information on equipment including escalation/resolution of issues.
- Lead/manage critical sub-vendor supply chain projects to ensure business objectives are met.
- Integrate work scopes across MD&A Divisions and customer representatives for MD&A service content.
- Lead/coordinate technical/commercial recovery plans for discovery on MHI turbines on a case basis.

Preferred Experience / Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field required. Graduate degree preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in Power Generation.
- Steam Turbine design experience, such as thermodynamic and mechanical design.
- Systems Integration experience.
- Project management experience, including large complex cross organizational projects.
- Commercial experience, such as contract negotiation
