The Attorney Recruiter is a strategic and highly visible role responsible for driving the firm’s attorney hiring efforts through proactive sourcing, strong market engagement, and a best-in-class candidate experience. This individual will partner closely with Directors of Human Resources and firm leadership to identify talent needs, build robust candidate pipelines, and deliver high-quality hires across offices and practice areas. This role goes beyond coordination—success requires actively identifying, engaging, and attracting top legal talent in a competitive market. The ideal candidate brings a strong legal recruiting background, exceptional relationship-building skills, and the ability to operate with urgency and consultative influence.
Primary Job Duties:
- Develop and execute a proactive attorney recruiting strategy aligned with firm growth goals
- Partner with hiring managers and firm leadership to understand hiring needs, practice group dynamics, and candidate profiles
- Actively source and recruit top attorney talent, including passive candidates, through LinkedIn, networking, referrals, and market outreach
- Build and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified candidates across key markets and practice areas
- Screen and evaluate candidates, providing thoughtful and consultative recommendations to hiring managers
- Build relationships with law schools and support the Summer Associate pipeline
- Track, analyze, and report on recruiting metrics, pipeline activity, and hiring outcomes
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date candidate records within HRIS and applicant tracking systems
- Stay informed on market trends, competitor activity, and innovative sourcing strategies

- Bachelor’s degree required; J.D. strongly preferred
- 5+ years of recruiting experience, with a strong preference for law firm or professional services recruiting
- Proven success in direct sourcing and placing attorney candidates, including passive talent
- Deep understanding of the legal talent market and competitive hiring landscape
- Strong consultative skills with the ability to influence hiring decisions and advise leadership
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and follow-through
- Ability to manage multiple searches simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
- Discretion and professionalism in handling confidential information
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with Paylocity or similar HRIS/ATS platforms
- Collaborative mindset with a proactive, solutions-oriented approach
