Dispatcher
Description

In your role as a Dispatcher, you will be responsible for the following essential functions:

  • Arrive at your shift ready to communicate with the previous dispatcher(s) on duty.
  • Check-in/check-out drivers. (Depending on shift)
  • Data entry: Driver arrival/departure times, freight counts, detention times, etc. as needed based on customer requirements.
  • Update and maintain driver schedules.
  • Oversight and monitoring of various driver routes with the ability to think quickly to change routes as needed for the most cost-efficient routing.
  • Understand customer’s needs. Ex: UPSMI requires Trans Plans to be sent every hour with updates.
  • Keeping track of documentation required by drivers. Ex: Receipts, proof of delivery, etc.
  • Quick problem solving/resolution and communication in situations such as breakdowns, accidents, etc. 
  • Assist the Operations Team as needed.
  • Perform all duties with strict focus on safety, security, and confidentiality.
  • Provide a consistent, positive image of MTM Ventures, Inc., its executives, and employees to both in-house and outside public.


Requirements

To be considered for this position you must have the following qualifications:

  • Three years relevant work experience, or any equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to do the job. 
  • Professional maturity, discipline and high emotional intelligence.
  • Work collaboratively across the organization and share best practices.
  • Accuracy, good communication skills, detail-oriented, time management, and multi-tasking skills, excellent organizational and record keeping skills with the ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects. This position also requires reliability, flexibility and responsibility.
  • Employee should have proficient math, reading, writing and grammar skills. 
  • Must be proficient with the entire Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Previous knowledge of Samsara or similar GPS Routing/ELD software is preferred.
  • Ability to work under pressure and on the fly changes.

  • Office environment with controlled temperature, frequently required to walk, sit, talk, hear, use hands and fingers to operate office equipment and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to balance, stoop, kneel and crouch. The employee must occasionally lift 20 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus.
