Position Overview

Responsible for planning, directing and coordinating the successful operation of several stores, anywhere from two or more. The Regional Manager is responsible for achieving satisfactory sales and profits as set forth by a specific operating budget. Duties and responsibilities include formulating policies, managing daily operations, and planning the use of materials and human resources, but are too diverse and general in nature to be classified in any one functional area of management or administration, such as personnel, purchasing, or administrative services.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Direct and coordinate activities of businesses or departments concerned with the production, pricing, sales, or distribution of products.
  • Reviewing work schedules to make sure labor needs are being met
  • Review financial statements, sales and activity reports, and other performance data to measure productivity and goal achievement and to determine areas needing cost reduction and program improvement.
  • Develop Establish and implement departmental policies, goals, objectives, and procedures, conferring with organization official and staff members as necessary.
  • Determine staffing requirements, recruit, interview, hire, train, demote, terminate store employees, and store manager when necessary while continuing to oversee those personnel processes.
  • Monitor stores to ensure that they efficiently and effectively provide needed goods and services while staying with budgetary funds.
  • Oversee activities directly related to providing services.
  • Direct and coordinate organization's financial and budget activities to fund operations, maximize Investments, and increase efficiency.
  • Determine goods and services to be sold, and set prices and credit terms, based on forecasts of customer demand.
  • Manager the movement of goods into and out of stores
  • Locate, select, and procure merchandise for resale, representing management in purchase negotiations.
  • When necessary, perform sales floor work such as greeting and assisting customers, stocking shelves, and taking inventory.
  • Develop and implement product marketing strategies including advertising campaigns and sales promotions. 
  • Plan and direct activities such as sales promotions, coordinating with other department heads as required.
  • Plan store layouts and design displays.
  • Ensure all employees and the store manager know, understand, and follow company policies and standards.
  • Constantly measure and evaluate performance as well as take corrective action, when necessary,
  • Assure productivity of employees through example and leadership
  • Control stores expenses
  • Achieve and maintain effective store operations through the development and maintenance of necessary records.
  • Provide adequate supervision to reduce loss due to theft.
  • Stay current with all the company memos and ensure that company policies are met.
  • Maintain and preserve company property.
  • Prevent overstocks and/or out of stocks through correct product ordering by providing necessary supervision.
  • Properly display in-store out of stocks through correct product ordering by providing necessary Supervision.
  • Give all customers prompt and courteous service in addition to effectively handling customer complaints.
  • Develop a favorable customer image through cleanliness, attractiveness, and employee conduct by providing necessary supervision.
  • Abide by all city, county, state and federal regulations.
  • Maintain constant up to date knowledge of local competition.
  • Assist in all areas that need attention or assign a person to complete the task.
  • Develop, motivate and direct employees in a manner that maximizes sales, earnings, customer satisfaction and development of personnel through supportive leadership.
  • Direct and implement effective customer service programs.
  • Direct and implement effective safety, security and sanitation programs.
  • Responsible for leading and directing employees and store teams.
  • Responsible for the labor set to ensure that company guidelines are achieved.
  • Motivate each employee and store manager of the store team to ensure the highest degree of customer satisfaction achievable.
  • Implements effective performance appraisal systems to properly identify training and development for the store team.
  • Ensure all markups, markdowns, spoilage and store use of merchandise are recorded according to company policy.
  • Verify all money is calculated accurately and deposited daily.
  • Monitor bad check losses.
  • Ensure that the week reports are done accurately by trained employees.
  • Supervise and verify that all hours worked are accurately reported on the computer, the timecard. 
  • Maintain warning notices to reflect a continuous performance record of all employees.
  • Advise supervisor of any personnel situations of policy violations having a negative effect on store operations.
  • Check all equipment for proper working conditions
  • Responsible for controlling payroll within budget guidelines.
  • Follow company policy by maintaining a low cash drawer and utilizing the safe, as instructed by supervisor.
  • Share the responsibility for controlling the inventory in the store.
  • Supervise maintaining merchandise to prevent out of stocks.
  • Build and maintain displays that are sellable.
  • Prepare and maintain perishable foods according to company standards and as instructed by supervisor.
  • Maintain cooler: shelves and displays by keeping them full and always fronted.
  • Properly cleans and maintains store equipment.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education:

  • High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)

Experience:

  • Prior Supervision of multiple stores.

Skills & Abilities

  • Computer Skills: Microsoft Office. (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint). AS400, MS office and other general computer knowledge for developing spreadsheets and presentations.

  • Required to always have access to a phone, excellent communication, organization, and planning skills. Ability to train, motivate and supervise management and/or employees to achieve company goals. Extensive knowledge of all company policies. Ability to work or interact with management and/or employees on a professional basis.
