What You'll Do
As a Childcare Room Teacher, you'll play an important role in each child's development by:
Creating a warm, safe, and welcoming classroom where children feel valued.

- Planning fun, hands-on lessons and activities that encourage learning through play.
- Inspiring creativity, curiosity, and confidence every day.
- Supporting children's social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development.
- Building strong relationships with families through daily communication.
- Leading indoor and outdoor activities that promote healthy growth and active play.
- Assisting with meals, snacks, hygiene, and daily care routines.
- Encouraging independence, kindness, and positive behavior.
- Maintaining a clean, organized, and engaging classroom environment.
- Following all Stevens Industries Childcare policies and DCFS licensing regulations.
We're Looking For Someone Who Is...

Qualifications
Required:
- Must be at least 19 years of age.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Current physical (within six months).
- Tuberculosis (Mantoux) test.
- Ability to pass fingerprinting and background check.
- CPR and First Aid Certification (or ability to obtain).
- Food Handler Certification (or ability to obtain).
- Complete 15 hours of annual professional development as required by DCFS.
Preferred Qualifications
We're excited to meet candidates with a variety of backgrounds! Preferred qualifications include:
- 60 semester hours (or 90 quarter hours) from an accredited college, including coursework in child care or child development.
OR - One year (1,560 hours) of experience in a licensed daycare, preschool, nursery school, or kindergarten, along with qualifying college coursework in child care or child development.
