The Controller position is a key leadership role within our growing finance organization. The Company operates across the Southeastern United States and continues to expand through both organic growth and strategic acquisitions. This role will oversee financial reporting, internal controls, and accounting operations while supporting the integration of acquired businesses and the continued optimization of our NetSuite ERP platform. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong technical accounting experience, the ability to manage multiple priorities, and a proven track record of driving process improvement in a fast-paced environment. This role is hybrid in our Winter Park office.
What You’ll Do
As a Controller, you’ll provide strategic financial leadership across the organization while overseeing all core accounting and compliance functions.
Responsibilities include:
- Oversee the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely, accurate, and complete financial reporting across multiple entities.
- Prepare monthly financial reporting for Sr. Management with analysis of key factors driving results.
- Manage monthly close process, review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations and supporting schedules in accordance with GAAP and company policies.
- Manage intercompany accounting activities and resolve variances to maintain the integrity of consolidated financial statements.
- Develop and enhance financial reporting tools, dashboards, and analyses to support strategic decision-making and organizational performance.
- Continuously assess financial systems and workflows, identifying opportunities for process improvements. Act as project manager for cross-functional implementation efforts.
- Drive the optimization of finance and accounting NetSuite ERP platform to fully leverage opportunities for workflow efficiency and automation.
- Lead the budgeting process and partner closely with executive leadership and department heads to ensure budgets capture and reflect strategic objectives.
- Lead the financial integration of acquisitions, including data mapping, system conversions, and the standardization of accounting processes.
- Coordinate annual audits, manage auditor relationships, and ensure timely completion of supporting documentation and compliance requirements.
- Oversee sales, use, and property tax filings, as well as compliance with all business registrations, licenses, and regulatory requirements.
- Establish, maintain, and monitor internal controls, policies, and procedures to mitigate risk and ensure ongoing compliance. Proactively identify and implement measures to continuously strengthen internal controls.
- Lead, mentor, and develop accounting personnel while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
What We’re Looking For
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
- 8+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, with leadership responsibilities.
- Experience overseeing month-end close, financial reporting, and multi-entity accounting.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Experience with NetSuite ERP or similar platform.
- Advanced Excel and financial reporting skills.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and manage competing priorities.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to communicate effectively with executive leadership.
- Prior experience managing and developing accounting teams.
