We are seeking a dynamic Business Development Executive to join our Business Development & Marketing team. This full-time, exempt, remote position offers the opportunity to serve as the face of SVMIC within an assigned territory, building meaningful relationships with physicians, healthcare organizations, and key industry partners. Regular travel is required. Standard working hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

General Function
Serves as the face of SVMIC in dedicated territory while initiating and cultivating prospects and key relationships essential to grow SVMIC’s policyholder base, as well as servicing and retaining existing policyholders.
Major Duties and Responsibilities

- Serve as the face of SVMIC to policyholders in assigned territory, continually nurturing relationships with policyholders through visits, outings, and phone calls.
- Manage and maintain accounts in CRM.
- Responsible for growth and retention goals for assigned territory.
- Initiate and cultivate prospects and key relationships essential to grow SVMIC’s policyholder base, turning prospects into policyholders.
- Prepare quotes and proposals, and develop and effectively deliver presentations to individuals and groups of varying sizes.
- Utilize all resources within the organization to demonstrate SVMIC’s value proposition to prospective policyholders.
- Solicit referrals for new business through various mediums, including calls, visits, referrals, social media, technology, etc.
- Meet or exceed established monthly minimum goals for number of calls, meetings, and sales goals, moving the pipeline in CRM.
- Prepare and deliver renewals.
- Work with Marketing and determine appropriate conferences and seminars to attend as well as appropriate Marketing campaigns in assigned territory.
- May begin to research and recommend new ideas in market to increase brand recognition.
- Coordinate and convey needs and requests of policyholders with various SVMIC departments based on request. This function requires a thorough understanding of SVMIC functional areas to ensure efficient use of resources.
- Partner with Underwriting on renewal data formulation.
- Attend Underwriting committee meetings as required.
- Participate in professional development activities and maintain professional affiliations, attending and actively participating in state and society meetings as required.
- Effectively represent SVIC at conferences and seminars as required.
- Participate in cross-functional teams.
- Meet established performance standards for productivity, quality, continuous improvement, and goal accomplishment.
- Contribute to SVMIC’s success by identifying opportunities and making recommendations that may lead to improved processes.
- Regular and predictable attendance required. This position operates as a remote role, with specific scheduling and on-site expectations to be determined by business needs and job responsibilities.
- Available to travel by various means (this includes air travel) as business needs dictate.
- Complete special projects and other duties assigned.

Education and Experience
- Associate's degree or higher;
- At least 6 years of relevant sales, customer service, and account management experience; Medical Professional Liability (MPL) insurance experience preferred;
- An equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for the position;
- Thorough knowledge of MPL insurance terminology.
Licenses and Professional Designations
- Certified Medical Practice Executive (CMPE)/Associate in General Insurance, a plus.
- Appropriate licensure in assigned jurisdictions maintained in good standing, and obtained within 90 days of hire.
- Valid Driver’s License required.
