Description

Position Summary

Responsible for providing exemplary guest service by delivering beverages, cashiering, bartending, clearing tables, and maintaining overall appearance of the convention center, casino, and all other F&B outlets as assigned.


Essential Functions

  • Required to complete cross training in all F&B outlets, both front and back of house, to ensure versatile assistance when and where needed during banquet slower business/function times.
  • Provides exemplary guest service to all CWCR guests in all capacities.
  • Performs the setup, breakdown, and storage of Banquet furniture, tables, chairs, equipment, supplies, audio visual, props, staging, dance floor, pipe and drape, portable bars, or any other related item.
  • Sets tables with all needs for the function i.e. silver, linen, skirting, china, glassware and other requirements.
  • Performs the set up and breakdown for all events and functions, including but not limited to cleaning tables and returning all items, supplies, and equipment to their appropriate storage locations, as specified in internal communications. 
  • Serves food and beverage orders to customers and prepares or serves specialty dishes at tables, or to guests throughout casino F&B outlets as required.
  • Serves wine and bottled or draft beer.
  • Mixes ingredients, such as liquor, soda, water, sugar, and bitters, to prepare cocktails and other drinks.
  • Checks with guests to ensure that they are enjoying their meals and takes action to correct any problems. 
  • Operates cash registers to accept payment including monetary, coupons, and comp slips.
  • Assists with the breakdown of events including cleaning tables and returning all items to their appropriate storage location at the completion of each function.
  • Transports all required items for set-up and service from banquet storage areas to the function room.
  • Removes dishes and glasses from tables and prepares them to be sent to the kitchen.
  • Cleans tables and surrounding chairs and floors after guests have finished dining and resets the table with utensils and condiments.
  • Stocks bus station and other areas with items and utensils.
  • Fills salt, pepper, sugar, cream, condiments, and napkin containers.
  • Escorts guests to their tables as needed.  
  • Maintains overall cleanliness and appearance of designated area of responsibility.
  • Performs all opening, closing, cleaning, and stocking responsibilities.
  • Performs all duties in accordance with Chinook Winds Casino Resort guest service standards.
  • Maintains general knowledge and provides information to guests of Chinook Winds Casino Resort events, programs and services.
  • Provides input or recommendations for improvements and changes in processes or services.
  • All other duties as assigned.

WORKERS IN THIS POSITION MUST BE 21 OR OLDER

Education

High school diploma or GED preferred.


Experience

One year of experience as a server preferred.


Computer Skills

Experience with Point of Sale (POS) systems preferred.


Certificates & Licenses

Must obtain a Siletz Tribal Gaming License.

Must have OLCC temporary permit before the start date and obtain OLCC Permit within 45 days of the start date.

Must have a Food Handlers Permit within 30 days of start date.

Must obtain VIP (Visually Intoxicated Person) Permit within 45 days of employment.


Other Requirements

Knowledge of regulations governing food preparation and service.

Work Environment

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. The environment is subject to smoke and the associated affects. Some work will take place on the gaming floor.


Working Conditions

Conditions of employment include passing a pre-employment drug screen, a background investigation, and completing a 180-day introductory period.
