We're looking for a motivated Systems Engineer who enjoys solving technical challenges and improving the technology environments that support our employees and customers. In this hands-on role, you'll help design, administer, maintain, and improve our internal IT infrastructure and hosted customer environments across Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, Windows Server, networking, and security technologies. You'll serve as a key technical resource, evaluating infrastructure needs, recommending solutions, and helping keep our systems secure, reliable, and running efficiently. Primary Job Responsibilities
- Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot installed systems, infrastructure, operating systems, application software, and system management tools
- Analyze, prioritize, and resolve employee technical issues through phone, email, online meetings, Microsoft Teams, and other support channels while exercising independent judgment regarding appropriate solutions and escalation
- Administer endpoint management, server infrastructure, phone systems, backups, access controls, firewalls, and security technologies while ensuring system reliability and compliance with organizational standards
- Monitor and test application and system performance, identify potential bottlenecks, and collaborate with developers and senior technical team members to implement solutions
- Evaluate, design, and implement improvements to information systems, infrastructure, and operational support processes that enhance reliability, security, and operational efficiency
- Participate in after-hours or weekend support, maintenance, and emergency response as business needs require
- Provide advanced technical support for customer-initiated tickets that require systems, infrastructure, networking, or installation expertise
- Administer, maintain, and optimize hosted customer infrastructure while evaluating opportunities to improve system reliability, security, and performance
- Identify and troubleshoot system and application performance issues affecting hosted customers
- Evaluate customer infrastructure requirements and provide technical guidance regarding server architecture, connectivity, bandwidth, security, and overall environment readiness during implementation planning
Desired Qualifications/Skills
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104) certification is required. Candidates who do not possess the certification at the time of hire must obtain it within twelve (12) months of employment as a condition of continued employment. Procede Software will provide reasonable support and resources to assist employees in achieving this requirement
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, Windows Server administration, Active Directory, Group Policy, backups, and system troubleshooting
- Working or developing knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server, SQL, and Internet Information Services (IIS)
- Understanding of networking concepts and technologies, including firewalls, switches, and access control lists
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to exercise sound judgment and independently resolve or appropriately escalate technical issues
- Strong interpersonal and customer-service skills, including the ability to communicate with employees and customers professionally, patiently, and courteously
- Ability to handle confidential information and maintain appropriate access and security controls
- Ability to work independently, take ownership of assigned responsibilities, communicate constraints or risks, and follow work through to completion
- Availability to work after hours or on weekends when necessary
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience administering and supporting Microsoft-based infrastructure, cloud technologies, networking, or related enterprise technology environments
- Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, or a related field preferred; equivalent work experience may be considered
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit at a desk, computer terminal or meeting table for a long period of time
- Ability to use hands and fingers or adaptive equipment to safely operate assigned equipment
- Ability to lift up to 20 lbs
- Ability to use telephone frequently for a long period of time, and to hear and speak clearly by telephone

Location and Compensation
This is an in-office Monday through Friday during regular business hours role; candidates must be willing to commute to our Solana Beach, CA office daily. The base salary for this role ranges from $72,000- $97,000, based on factors such as education, experience, qualifications, skills, certifications, and location, etc.
