Superintendent
Austin, Texas
Description

 ABOUT THE ITEX GROUP

Founded in 2002, ITEX Group is a privately held real estate investment, construction, and property management firm. We construct, own, and operate apartment communities across Texas, Louisiana, Alabama, and Colorado, with a focus on providing safe, quality, and well-maintained homes for our residents. Our team is the foundation of our success, and we are committed to building a workplace where people grow, contribute, and are recognized for their hard work.

ICON Builders is the construction arm of The ITEX Group, delivering ground-up, stick-built apartment communities from site development through move-in. Our field teams set the pace for safety, quality, and craftsmanship on every project we build.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for an experienced, driven Superintendent to lead on-site construction operations for our current stick-built multifamily (apartment) projects. This is more than a field management role — you will be the heartbeat of the job site, setting the standard for safety, quality, and team performance from groundbreaking to ribbon-cutting.

If you thrive in a fast-paced environment, take pride in delivering exceptional work, and know how to get the best out of your crews and subcontractors, we want to hear from you.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Site Leadership & Operations

  • Lead all on-site construction activities for stick-built multifamily projects, driving efficient and accountable execution from mobilization through closeout
  • Supervise and coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel — setting clear expectations and holding teams to high performance standards
  • Serve as the primary on-site point of contact for project managers, subcontractors, owners, and other stakeholders
  • Lead daily site meetings to communicate priorities, address issues, and align the team on project goals

Schedule & Project Management

  • Own and actively manage the project schedule — identify risks early, resolve delays in real time, and drive the project forward
  • Coordinate material deliveries, verify quantities, and ensure alignment with construction sequences and milestones
  • Plan and manage site logistics including staging, access, crane picks, and material flow
  • Collaborate with the project management team on look-ahead schedules, manpower planning, and subcontractor coordination

Safety & Compliance

  • Champion a proactive safety culture — OSHA compliance is non-negotiable on our job sites
  • Conduct routine safety inspections, job site audits, and enforce proper PPE usage and hazard mitigation
  • Maintain full compliance with OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and applicable building codes

Quality Control & Documentation

  • Perform ongoing quality control inspections to ensure all work meets project specifications and company standards
  • Maintain accurate daily logs, document site activity, and track subcontractor performance
  • Support a thorough project closeout including punch list management, inspections, and owner walkthroughs

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

We're looking for someone who brings hands-on leadership to the job site and takes ownership of outcomes, not just tasks.

Specifically, we’re looking for someone who:

  • Leads by example and holds crews and subcontractors accountable to a high standard
  • Communicates clearly and directly with field teams, project managers, and ownership
  • Stays calm and solutions-focused when schedules or conditions shift
  • Takes pride in the finished product, from framing to final walkthrough

 WHAT WE OFFER

  • Competitive salary, commensurate with experience
  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage, including HSA, HMO, and PPO plan options through BCBS of Texas
  • Opportunities for professional growth within a growing, privately held construction and real estate organization
  • A collaborative, field-first culture that values craftsmanship and accountability
