Summary:

The Senior Planner is a seasoned supply chain and production planning professional who provides strategic oversight and leadership across multiple product lines, departments, or customer programs. This role balances tactical execution with long-term planning strategies, ensuring materials, capacity, and schedules are aligned to meet business objectives. Acting as the escalation point for complex issues, the Senior Planner partners with suppliers, procurement, engineering, and operations leadership to proactively resolve risks, improve processes, and optimize supply chain performance. The Senior Planner also mentors team members, drives departmental initiatives, and influences planning policies and best practices. 


  Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Own and manage end-to-end planning activities for multiple product lines or high-impact programs, ensuring alignment with customer requirements, operational capacity, and strategic goals.
  • Lead complex material requirement analysis, proactively mitigating risks through supplier negotiations, long-range planning, and cross-functional coordination.
  • Serve as the key escalation point for material shortages and schedule recovery; develop and drive corrective action plans across stakeholders.
  • Partner with Operations and Engineering leadership on capacity planning of automated machining equipment, demand forecasting, and integration of new products, engineering changes, and design updates.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to Planners I and II; act as a subject matter expert for advanced planning tools, data analysis, and supply chain processes.
  • Lead or co-lead department-wide process improvement initiatives, standard work creation, and adoption of planning best practices.
  • Contribute to strategic supply chain initiatives by analyzing trends, providing insights, and recommending long-term improvements to inventory and scheduling strategies.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering,   or related field and 5+ years of experience working with production or   inventory control systems in a manufacturing environment OR;
  • 7+ years of experience working with   production or inventory control systems in a manufacturing environment 
  • Highly skilled in ERP Software 
  • Ability to work independently and within   teams 
  • Strong analytical skills: detail-driven   individual with emphasis on accuracy with the ability to see the broader   picture. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office including   Outlook, Excel, Word.
  • Demonstrated Project Management skills –   taking a project from start to finish. 
  • Strong organizational skills: ability to   manage multiple priorities and make effective decisions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication   skills.
  • Possesses an analytical midset or approach 
  • Professional business acumen: ability to   interact and influence all levels within the organization.
  • Self-directed; ability to make day-to-day   decisions independently.
  • Excellent Customer service. 
  • Ability to be productive in a fast-paced   team environment.
  • This position may require use of information   or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms   Regulations (ITAR). Additional Skills and Experience (Preferred  or helpful)

  • Experience working in the Aerospace, Medical or other highly regulated industry.
  • Experience working with Epicor (Enterprise System).
  • Experience in procuring Metal / Mechanical   manufacturing parts/equipment.
Salary Description
$80,000 - $110,000
