 Agile Space Industries is a rapidly growing supplier of propulsion hardware and engineering services for the space industry. This role can be onsite in Durango, CO. Or remote from Denver, CO or remote from Seattle, WA. Strong preference given to candidates who are able to be onsite in Durango, CO. Relocation assistance may be provided for eligible candidates. 


Agile Space Industries is seeking a Director of Marketing and Commercial Strategy, a senior leader responsible for developing and executing Agile Space Industries' marketing strategy while shaping the company's commercial direction and market positioning. Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer (CCO), this executive leads marketing, brand strategy, strategic communications, product marketing, and go-to-market planning to support the company's growth objectives. 


Working in close partnership with the Chief Commercial Officer, the Director will build and lead the company's marketing organization while ensuring Agile's brand, messaging, market strategy, and commercial priorities support sustainable growth across commercial, civil, and national security space markets. 


The Director serves as the strategic marketing counterpart to the CCO, translating commercial objectives into coordinated marketing initiatives, product positioning, and go-to-market strategies that strengthen Agile's market leadership and support revenue growth.   


Responsibilities
Brand Recognition: 

  • Develop and execute Agile's corporate marketing strategy to strengthen brand recognition, thought leadership, and market positioning. 
  • Develop and execute integrated marketing campaigns that strengthen brand awareness, customer engagement, and market positioning across all channels. 
  • Ensure consistent brand messaging and positioning across all customer touchpoints. 
  • Maintain the integrated marketing calendar and align campaign timing across functional areas. 
  • Identify opportunities to increase brand awareness, customer engagement, and market visibility, 

Marketing Leadership:  

  • Provide leadership in all marketing functions, including brand management, product marketing, digital marketing, website strategy, strategic communications, public relations, technical publications, social media, and industry events. 
  • Establish marketing priorities and ensure all initiatives support company growth. 
  • Build, lead, mentor, and develop high-performing marketing organization, fostering collaboration, accountability, and professional development. 
  • Lead weekly marketing planning meetings to align priorities, timelines and deliverables. 
  • Build scalable marketing processes, workflows, and best practices. 
  • Establish team priorities, remove roadblocks, and drive accountability across marketing initiatives.  

Marketing and BD Coordination: 

  •  Direct marketing, BD, engineering and other cross functional staff to create and execute commercial campaigns. This includes capture campaigns (to win specific opportunities), product campaigns (to increase market share of an Agile product), market campaigns (to expand into a particular market such as lunar, missile defense, or international), customer campaigns (to grow a strategic customer relationship), and event campaigns (such as coordinating digital media, travel logistics, messaging, and follow up actions for Space Symposium, 15+ other conferences, customer visits, and Agile-held events).  
  • Coordinate integrated campaigns across digital marketing, public relations, website, social media, conferences, customer engagement, and strategic communications to ensure consistent messaging and execution. 

Market Strategy:  

  • Develop and execute go-to-market strategies for priority products, markets, customer segments, and strategic growth initiatives. 
  • Evaluate market trends, customer needs, and competitive intelligence to inform commercial strategy and marketing priorities. 
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen brand awareness, customer engagement, and market visibility across commercial, civil, and national security markets. 

Product Prioritization:  

  • Partner with the CCO and executive leadership to recommend commercial priorities, market strategies, product positioning, and long-term growth opportunities. 

Sales Enablement:  

  • Lead sales enablement by managing the development of customer messaging, presentations, product collateral, competitive positioning, and proposal support. 
  • Maintain consistent and cohesive messaging, positioning, and marketing collateral across all customer -acing communications 

Planning: 

  • Provide strategic direction for commercial planning, market intelligence, and performance metrics while partnering with the Senior Business Development Manager on commercial processes, forecasting, CRM, and sales operations. 
  • Establish marketing KPIs and measure campaign effectiveness. 
  • Analyze marketing performance and recommend strategic adjustments to improve commercial outcomes. 
  • Provide strategic oversight of marketing investments while partnering with functional leads responsible for budget execution. 

Products:  

  • Partner with executive leadership to support commercialization of new products and coordinate product launches. 

Technical Promotion: 

  • Partner closely with engineering, product management, program management, and executive leadership to ensure Agile's technical capabilities are effectively translated into compelling customer value propositions. 

Customer & Partner Collaboration: 

  • Serve as customer-facing marketing executive, building relationships with customers and partner marketing organizations. 
  • Facilitate collaboration between customer marketing teams and internal stakeholders to support joint initiatives. 
  • Partner with Strategic Communications Lead to identify and coordinate opportunities for joint announcements, press releases, customer success stories, media engagements, and co-marketing campaigns. 
  • Coordinate cross-functional communication to ensure initiatives are aligned, timely, and effectively executed. 

Culture: 

  • Foster a culture of strategic thinking, collaboration, accountability, and execution throughout the commercial organization. 
Requirements

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field. 
  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in aerospace, defense, or another highly technical B2B industry. 
  • Demonstrated success developing and executing strategic marketing, branding, and go-to-market initiatives for complex technical products. 
  • Successful track record of digital marketing, strategic communications, and marketing event leadership. 
  • Experience developing and executing integrated marketing strategies across digital marketing, strategic communications, brand management, events, and product marketing. 
  • Experience with product marketing, brand development, strategic communications, and technical marketing for highly engineered products. 
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary marketing or commercial organizations. 
  • Strong strategic planning, organizational leadership, and project management skills. 
  • Excellent written, verbal, and executive communication skills. 
  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive organizational alignment. 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Experience in spacecraft, propulsion, launch, satellite systems, or national security space. 
  • Experience supporting customers such as NASA, Space Force, NRO, SDA, MDA, commercial space companies, and aerospace prime contractors. 
  • Knowledge of long-cycle, high-value technical marketing, sales, business development, and capture processes. 
  • Demonstrated success building brands and marketing organizations within the aerospace or defense industry.

Work Schedule: Full-Time 

Travel Expectations: ~ 35%

Salary: The expected salary range for this role is $188,000 – $220,000 annually. Final compensation will be based on factors such as experience, skills, and internal equity, and is typically made within the midrange, rather than the upper end. The posted salary band reflects the compensation range for candidates located in Colorado, in compliance with Colorado state law.
