Administrative Back Office Support Specialist (Remote)

Hours: 5-10 Hours Per Week, As Needed
Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Administrative Back Office Support Specialist to provide remote administrative support for our healthcare practice. This position is responsible for managing prior authorizations, medical clearances, medical records requests, and specialty referrals to help ensure efficient patient care and continuity of treatment.
Responsibilities
- Effectively submit prior authorization requests for medications to insurance companies as needed to support patient continuation of treatment.
- Submit clearance requests for blood thinners, cardiac concerns, and other medical conditions requiring approval prior to procedures.
- Process medical records requests accurately and in full compliance with HIPAA guidelines.
- Coordinate and submit specialty referrals for Recovia and ROC.
- Maintain accurate documentation of authorizations, referrals, and provider communications.
- Follow up with insurance companies, provider offices, and patients regarding outstanding requests and approvals.
- Complete assigned administrative tasks in a timely and professional manner.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in healthcare administration, medical office support, or a related field preferred.
- Knowledge of prior authorization processes and insurance procedures.
- Understanding of medical terminology and HIPAA regulations.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
- Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and Microsoft Office applications preferred.
