Description
STRUCTR Advisors is seeking a Senior Manager for our Mechanical Analysis & Commissioning team. This role will be responsible for leading and growing the Mechanical Analysis business unit. The role requires an individual with desire to provide business development, technical excellence, project execution, staff development, and client management.
The core functions of the unit are to provide:
- Building commissioning to ensure the successful delivery of third-party commissioning services across a variety of building sectors.
- Energy modeling services to support client objectives.
- Support to our affiliated construction company with problem-solving and / or mechanical analysis associated with building systems.
- Includes engagement as a commissioning liaison on projects with third-party commissioning providers to help ensure successful project outcomes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Team Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and develop direct report staff.
- Review, maintain and/or enhance STRUCTR commissioning standards and processes.
- Manage staffing, workload planning, and team performance.
- Support human resources with hiring and staff professional development needs.
Client Relations, Business Development & Strategic Growth
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with owners, design teams, contractors, and facility stakeholders.
- Compile proposals, participate in interviews, and assist in contract negotiations.
- Identify opportunities for repeat business, business growth via new services and market expansion.
Project & Technical Leadership
- Engage as a commissioning manager on projects and assign staff to commission / manage other projects and assignments.
- Ensure business unit consistently performs in all phases of commissioning from design review, project execution and closeout.
- Provide technical expertise to support resolution of challenges with building systems, including HVAC, electrical, BAS, etc.
Construction & Third-Party Commissioning Coordination
- Act as the primary liaison between the affiliated construction company and independent commissioning providers.
- Coordinate with subcontractors for testing, documentation, issue resolution, scheduling, and turnover activities.
- Support construction teams in meeting commissioning requirements and provide general MEP guidance for problem-solving.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or electrical engineering.
- 10+ years of experience in commissioning, engineering consulting, MEP systems, facility operations, or construction.
- Demonstrated success managing commissioning projects and client relationships.
- Experience in business development to cultivate and grow business.
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- Excellent leadership, communication, computer, and interpersonal skills.
- Previous experience managing employees preferred.
- Combination of Certifications from the below:
- Certified Commissioning Professional (CCP)
- Building Commissioning Professional (BCxP)
- Existing Building Commissioning Professional (EBCP)
- LEED AP
- Certified Energy Manager (CEM)
- Periodic travel may be required to support project & business development needs.
