We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Kitchen Porter to help maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary commissary kitchen and café.

What You'll Do

• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation throughout the kitchen, café, employee areas, restrooms, and other assigned spaces.
• Perform routine and deep cleaning, including floors, kitchen equipment, appliances, grease traps, and ventilation areas.
• Empty trash, recycling, and food waste and maintain designated disposal areas.
• Keep storage areas, loading docks, hallways, and entrances clean and organized.
• Restock cleaning and sanitation supplies as needed.
• Safely use cleaning equipment, chemicals, and required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Report maintenance concerns, damaged equipment, and safety hazards to management.
• Follow company safety and sanitation procedures and applicable NYC Department of Health standards.
• Support additional cleaning, sanitation, and maintenance projects as needed.
• Perform other related duties and responsibilities as needed to support the team and business. 

What We're Looking For

• Must be at least 18 years of age. 
• High school diploma or equivalent required. 
• Previous experience as a kitchen porter, sanitation, janitorial, custodial, dishwasher, or in commercial cleaning preferred.
• Experience in a commercial kitchen, restaurant, grocery store, or food-production environment is a plus.
• Knowledge of cleaning, sanitation, and safe chemical-handling practices preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule based on business needs.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds or more.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and reach for extended periods.
• Ability to safely operate cleaning equipment and work in hot, cold, wet, humid, and noisy environments.
