The SFS Counselor is accountable for ensuring that all aspects of student billing and accounts are processed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with institutional policies and federal regulations. This role has extensive contact with students, families, and campus partners and plays a critical part in supporting student success through timely and transparent account management.


The qualified candidate works daily with students and families to resolve outstanding balances and establish payment plans. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of options and resources available to help students meet their financial obligations. 

Prepares and maintains accurate student bills, including monthly billing cycles. Collaborates with the Controller’s office to ensure accurate reconciliation and reporting. 


Monitors outstanding balances and communicate regularly with students no longer enrolled. Ensures timely documentation and collection of funds from external partners. 


Associate’s degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred. Two or more years of experience in student accounts, bursar operations, billing, collections, or related financial operations strongly preferred. Strong technical skills with student information systems, financial databases, and Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent communication skills with the ability to provide clear, empathetic, and professional service to students and families.
