BIM Technician

Job Purpose

The BIM Technician will be responsible for documenting redmarks generated by design personnel into Autocadd or Revit for projects. 

Duties and Responsibilities

The primary duties and responsibilities of this position include the following:

  • Prepare design documents appropriate for the project and in accordance with company standards.
  • Input redmarks into the appropriate BIM program
  • Review of drawings to ensure that all redmarks have been completed correctly
  • Monitor project status and development to meet project deadlines 
  • Coordinate manpower needs weekly with the EOR for the project

Continuing Education

Ten hours of BIM specific training will be required each year. Although attending vendor classes are encouraged to keep up with technology, this will not count toward the 10 hours of training.

Working Conditions

This position requires night and weekend work at times to complete projects to meet deadlines.

Requirements

The following qualifications are requirements of the position:

  • Two year technical BIM degree or high school diploma as a minimum
  • Proficient in Autocad and Revit
  • Ability to communicate with appropriate internal team members to discuss status of work
  • Ability to input redmarks accurately and completely into BIM system

Physical Requirements

The ability to carry up to 50 lbs of drawings is a requirement of the position.
