Summary

We have an exciting opportunity for someone to join our team in the role of Marketing & Business Development Manager to lead the marketing and business development efforts for the firm. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and successfully executing a comprehensive marketing strategy that continues to support the firm’s reputation and brand, while attracting new clients and supporting attorneys within our practice areas. The Marketing & Business Development Manager will ensure the firm’s marketing efforts align with the overall strategic objectives of the firm, while focusing on our continued growth and client first belief and approach. 


This is an in-office position located in our Portland, OR office.


Typical Tasks

Marketing 

Strategy Development & Execution:

  • Develop and implement a strategic marketing plan that aligns with the firm's goals and objectives.
  • Identify and pursue new marketing opportunities to increase brand visibility and client acquisition.

Brand Management:

  • Oversee the firm’s brand positioning and ensure consistency across all marketing materials and communication channels.
  • Oversight of all third parties involved in the marketing strategy ensuring they are meeting expectations outlined in agreements, maintaining brand guidelines, etc. 
  • Maintain brand guidelines and ensure their implementation across the firm.

Digital Marketing:

  • Lead the firm’s digital marketing efforts, including website management, SEO, SEM, email marketing, newsletters, videos and/or social media to include the involvement from and oversight of selected third parties when applicable. 
  • Monitor, analyze, and report on digital marketing metrics to optimize campaigns and improve ROI.

Content Marketing:

  • Develop and execute a content marketing strategy that positions the firm as a thought leader in its practice areas.
  • Oversee the creation of high-quality content, including things like blogs, print ads, PR, articles, and client newsletters.
  • Monitor, analyze, and report on content marketing metrics to optimize campaigns and improve ROI.

Events & Sponsorships:

  • Work with Director of Operations and Firm Leadership on the planning and management of the firm’s client and industry events and sponsorships.
  • Identify opportunities for the firm and/or Attorneys to participate in industry conferences and events.

Client Feedback:

  • Collaborate with Director of Operations and Client Services Manager to support the execution of a client feedback process and plan and the use of that information to inform future marketing strategy. 


Business Development 

  • Develop and implement a strategic business development plan that aligns with the firm's goals and objectives.
  • Referral Cultivation & Partnerships:
  • Build and nurture relationships with allied professionals in the Portland and Vancouver market. 
  • Community Engagement & Outreach:
  • Identify and coordinate sponsorships and/or speaking opportunities. 
  • Represent the firm at local community events. 

Budget Management

  • Manage the marketing and business development budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources to achieve marketing and client acquisition and retention goals.
  • Track and report on the ROI of marketing and business development spend.
Requirements

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities 

  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful marketing strategies that work alongside a business development plan to drive growth.
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing, content marketing, and brand management.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Comfortable with technology and marketing automation and able to quickly learn new tools. 
  • Exceptional client service skills and ability to work independently, as well as on a team. 
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communications skills. 
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Must be detail-oriented, able to think critically, and set high standards for accuracy. 
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills are required. 
  • Must be able to demonstrate your experience to independently represent the firm and our clients in a manner that is consistent with Gevurtz Menashe expectations and standards. 
  • Must have demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, Power Point. 

Education & Experience

  • 3 – 5 years of experience in marketing and business development. Experience in legal or professional services is required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business administration, communications, or related field required.
