Alerion Aviation is seeking an Aircraft Maintenance Technician to travel with company aircraft as needed to perform scheduled, unscheduled and line maintenance in accordance with FAA regulations, company standards, and Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) manuals. The Maintenance Technician also provides rapid-response support in AOG situations, minimizing aircraft downtime and ensuring safe return to service. .
The traveling Aircraft Maintenance Technician must be willing to travel and have the ability to work a varied schedule based on aircraft availability. This may include early mornings, nights, and weekends.
- Responsible for technical integrity of assigned aircraft.
- Assists the flight crew with in-flight checklist procedures and troubleshooting systems to ensure safety of flight.
- Performs and coordinates proper repair, servicing, and troubleshooting as needed. Keep pilots informed of advancement in aircraft grounding situations.
- Assists flight crew with complex logistical situations when aircraft technical problems arise.
- Performs preventive maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting and repairs to airframe systems, turbine engines, and appliances, and ensure compliance with FAA Part 145 standards.
- Complies with airworthiness directives, manufacturers service bulletins, and other technical requirements.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, structural, and avionics issues under high-pressure conditions.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records.
- Perform Return to Service (RTS) duties.
- Communicates timely, effectively, and professionally with stakeholders, and provides regular updates on repair timelines.
- Collaborate with inspection personnel and provide detailed discrepancy reports.
- Proactively identifies, reports, and mitigates hazards, safety-risks, and safety management deficiencies
- Adhere to safety and quality standards and ensure all work complies with FAA and Company policies
- Ability to work varied shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays as required by the needs of the operation.
- Ability to travel with the assigned aircraft.
- Additional duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Valid FAA A&P license required.
- 3+ years of aircraft maintenance experience or 3+ years of field or AOG maintenance experience preferred
- Preferred experience with Bombardier Global 5000
- Strong written and oral communications skills required
- Ability to work successfully independently, or as part of a team
- Strong troubleshooting skills
- Ability to analyze complex situations, processes, and procedures. Demonstrate flexibility in problem solving when required.
- Ability to work in a manual environment, with physical demands such as:
- Lift, push, pull or carry heavy objects up to 50lbs
- Bend, stoop, squat, reach and grasp
- Work at heights in excess of 5 feet
- Work in confined spaces
- Ability to accurately judge distances
ADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
- Must be able to pass a DOT pre-employment urine drug screen and random drug and alcohol screenings in accordance with company policy.
- Hold a current mechanic certificate with valid FAA airframe and powerplant ratings.
- Must hold a valid, unrestricted U.S. driver’s license.
- Authorized to work in the United States.
- Must be able to obtain SIDA and/or non-SIDA airport badges by passing a background check ordered by the airport.
- Must be able to pass comprehensive background check including a TSA required fingerprint based criminal records check in compliance with TSA Security Program Standards and 49 CFR 154.229 and CFR 1544.230.
