About the Role
The Senior Risk Data Analyst plays a critical role in enabling data-driven decision-making across Payliance's Risk & Compliance organization. You'll develop reporting, analytics, and automation solutions that enhance payments risk monitoring, compliance oversight, and operational efficiency. This role combines strong technical expertise, analytical thinking, and payments domain knowledge to support underwriting, transaction monitoring, compliance testing, and portfolio risk management.
You'll partner with Risk, Compliance, Underwriting, and Operations teams to translate business needs into data-driven solutions, presenting insights and recommendations clearly to stakeholders and leadership.
What You'll Do
Data Analytics & Reporting
· Design, develop, and maintain dashboards and reporting for risk and compliance metrics including return rates, unauthorized activity, fraud trends, and chargebacks.
· Analyze large transaction datasets to identify patterns, anomalies, and emerging risks.
· Produce recurring and ad hoc reporting for leadership and stakeholders to drive visibility and decision-making.
Automation & Technical Enablement
· Build and optimize automated workflows, data pipelines, and reporting processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.
· Partner with Engineering and Product teams to enhance data infrastructure and monitoring capabilities.
· Support development of rules engines, alerts, and decisioning tools for transaction monitoring, anomaly detection, and underwriting.
Payments Risk & Compliance Support
· Support NACHA return rate monitoring, merchant and originator performance tracking, and compliance KPIs.
· Assist the compliance team with QA/testing data analysis, audit support, and regulatory reporting.
· Partner with underwriting and risk teams to provide insights into merchant performance and portfolio trends.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
· Work closely with Risk, Compliance, Underwriting, and Operations teams to identify data needs and deliver solutions.
· Present complex analyses and recommendations clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
· Translate business requirements into technical data solutions.

What You'll Bring
Required Qualifications
· Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field (Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, or related).
· 7+ years of experience in data analytics, risk analytics, or financial services analytics.
· Strong proficiency working with large datasets and visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, Grafana, or similar).
· Demonstrated ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights.
· Understanding of payments data and risk indicators.
· Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
· Experience in payments, fintech, or financial services.
· Familiarity with ACH/NACHA rules or transaction monitoring.
· Hands-on experience with SQL, Python, or similar data manipulation languages.
· Experience with data pipeline tools and automation frameworks.
· Knowledge of fraud detection, risk modeling, or compliance analytics.
