OVERVIEW:

The incumbent will work as a paint helper to paint the interior and exterior of structures and other surfaces.  This job is very important since good painting has both practical and aesthetic benefits. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. 

• Follow      written and oral instructions assigned
• Read blueprints/instructions      and examine surfaces to determine the kind and amount of work necessary
• Paint surfaces      according to the instructions with various tools
• Apply paint      and other finishes
• Take      and adhere to all health and safety precautions
• Keep the      general work area clean, organized and free of trash and clutter
• Other      duties as assigned by the area supervisor
• Aptitude      in using appropriate tools (brushes, caulking guns etc.)
• Good basic      math skills
• Manual      dexterity with excellent balance to work on scaffolding, ladders etc.
• Conscientious      with great attention to detail
