Heartline Staffing, in partnership with Purple Cow Recruiting, is seeking a dependable, hands-on Maintenance Technician / Electrician for a full-time, onsite manufacturing opportunity in Elk Grove Village, Illinois. This role is well suited for an experienced industrial electrical technician as well as a recent skilled-trades or technical-school graduate with strong electrical aptitude and the desire to continue building hands-on maintenance skills.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Maintenance Technician / Electrician supports the repair and maintenance of industrial machinery, electrical systems, and facility equipment. This position combines electrical troubleshooting with hands-on mechanical maintenance, preventive maintenance, machine repair, basic fabrication, and equipment testing.

The technician will perform electrical assignments with or without drawings, run electrical circuits, bend conduit, wire into breaker boxes and switchgear, maintain rectifiers, and work with DC electrical systems. The role also requires strong safety awareness, including compliance with Arc Flash standards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair industrial electrical equipment and systems
• Perform electrical work and assignments with or without electrical drawings
• Run electrical circuits
• Bend and install conduit
• Wire into breaker boxes and switchgear
• Run and bend copper to connect rectifiers
• Perform preventive and ongoing maintenance on rectifiers
• Troubleshoot rectifiers and DC electrical systems
• Follow Arc Flash safety standards
• Observe machinery and equipment to diagnose malfunctions
• Determine whether equipment requires adjustment or repair
• Dismantle machinery, equipment, or facility components to identify defective parts
• Replace, repair, or reproduce defective components using appropriate metal stock
• Reassemble and test equipment to verify correction of malfunctions
• Maintain and lubricate machine tools and production equipment
• Perform preventive maintenance activities
• Perform welding as needed
• Complete assigned job cards and work orders accurately and on time
• Maintain required maintenance documentation
• Determine appropriate maintenance practices and repair techniques
• Report safety, quality, or equipment concerns promptly to supervision
• Train or assist newer employees as requested
• Promote safe work practices, teamwork, quality, and reliable production support

Requirements

• Hands-On Electrical Work Experience in an Industrial or Manufacturing Environment REQUIRED
• Ability to Troubleshoot, Maintain, and Repair Electrical Equipment and Systems REQUIRED
• Industrial Electrical Troubleshooting Experience REQUIRED
• Ability to Run Electrical Circuits REQUIRED
• Ability to Bend and Install Conduit REQUIRED
• Experience Wiring Breaker Boxes and Switchgear REQUIRED
• Preventive Maintenance Experience REQUIRED
• Mechanical / Machine Repair Aptitude REQUIRED
• Ability to Diagnose Machine Malfunctions and Complete Repairs REQUIRED
• Strong Commitment to Safety, Quality, and Teamwork REQUIRED
• Arc Flash Safety Awareness / Compliance REQUIRED
• Ability to Work Fully On-Site in Elk Grove Village, IL REQUIRED
• Ability to Work Overtime When Required by Production Needs REQUIRED
• High School Diploma or GED REQUIRED
• Minimum 2 Years of Related Industrial / Electrical Experience and/or Training Preferred; Equivalent Education and Experience Considered
• Accredited Skilled-Trades or Technical-School Training Strongly Considered
• Rectifier / DC Current Experience Highly Preferred
• Plating / Electroplating Process Experience Highly Preferred
• Welding Experience Preferred
• Manufacturing / Production Environment Experience Preferred
• Bilingual English / Spanish Preferred

ENTRY-LEVEL / RECENT GRADUATE NOTE: Recent graduates from accredited skilled-trades or technical programs are encouraged to apply. A candidate with strong technical education, hands-on electrical training, and the ability to demonstrate industrial electrical aptitude may warrant consideration even without an extensive employment history.

RECTIFIER / DC EXPERIENCE: Familiarity with rectifiers, DC currents, and plating processes is highly desirable. Candidates with directly transferable industrial DC electrical experience should be fully documented during screening.

EDUCATION NOTE: High school diploma or GED is listed by the employer. Vocational or technical education is preferred. Relevant hands-on industrial electrical experience, technical-school training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience may satisfy the practical experience requirement.

IMPORTANT: This is a hands-on industrial electrical maintenance role. General building maintenance or residential electrical experience without industrial/manufacturing electrical troubleshooting should not be treated as equivalent without further verification.
