GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION: Provides support to upper-level Mechanical Maintenance Technicians II and performs basic mechanical maintenance tasks under supervision.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Assists upper-level technicians to observe, troubleshoot and repair manufacturing-related equipment in operation. Helps to identify and replace defective components.
· Assists with disassembly and assembly of manufacturing equipment.
· Assists with metal fabrication, deburring, and polishing.
· Restocks parts and materials in appropriate locations.
· Maintains cleanliness of all work areas.
· Complies with all cGMP, SOPs and Safety guidelines.
· Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform the essential duties summarized above and possess the skills and competencies summarized herein. High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and one to three months related experience and/or training.
ADDITIONAL SKILLS: Mechanical aptitude. Ability to operate a forklift, and TIG weld is a plus.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS: Must be able to (i) read and understand technical documents, such as policy manuals, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; (ii) write routine reports and correspondence; (iii) effectively communicate information and respond to questions, orally and in writing, in person-to-person and small group situations with customers, clients, general public and other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL AND CRITICAL THINKING SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to prepare and interpret bar graphs. Ability to perform operations using weight measurement and volume.
PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES: The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Occasionally move up to 1600 pounds using a manual pallet jack. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
