POSITION SUMMARY:
The Hybrid Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for the design, deployment, administration, and maintenance of the organization’s hybrid IT infrastructure across on-premises and cloud environments.
This role builds upon core system administration responsibilities by integrating cloud services, virtualization platforms, and enterprise infrastructure systems to ensure high availability, scalability, performance, and security. The Hybrid Infrastructure Engineer collaborates with IT leadership, vendors, and business units to implement solutions that support operational efficiency, cybersecurity standards, and business continuity.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Manage and support Microsoft Azure infrastructure, including virtual machines, storage, networking, identity services, security controls (RBAC/MFA), backup/recovery, governance policies, and hybrid cloud connectivity.
- Administer VMware environments, including vSphere, ESXi, Horizon VDI, storage (SAN), VM provisioning, migrations, performance optimization, lifecycle management, and disaster recovery.
- Maintain enterprise infrastructure and identity services, including Windows systems, Microsoft 365, Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, endpoint management (Intune), and access control security.
- Provide advanced technical support and troubleshooting for cloud, virtualization, endpoint, and networking technologies, including DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing, firewalls, VPNs, and complex escalation issues.
- Drive infrastructure improvement initiatives by monitoring performance and costs, implementing automation, supporting incident response, collaborating with vendors, documenting solutions, and engineering long-term reliability enhancements.

WORKING ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
- Predominantly operates in an office or home office environment. However, position may need to walk frequently through shift on concrete in production areas. May be exposed to moderate heat, light dust, fumes, cold temperatures, and noise. Adequate hearing, eye, and footwear protection is required in production areas.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
- This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
SCHEDULE:
- Standard Office Hours Monday through Friday
- Occasional off-hours work for maintenance, upgrades, or incident response

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in the field of Computer Science, Information Science, or Management Information Systems and/or a minimum of 7 years of experience in various Information Technology roles in consistently more responsible positions.
- Extensive front-end technical client hardware and software experience.
- Advanced expertise in cloud, virtualization, and infrastructure administration, including Microsoft Azure, VMware, and on-premises enterprise environments.
- Strong Microsoft identity and endpoint management experience, including Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft 365 administration, access controls, shared resources, and device management platforms.
- Comprehensive technical troubleshooting skills across networking, systems, and end-user technologies, including DNS, DHCP, VPNs, VLANs, Wi-Fi, desktops, mobile devices, printers, scanners, and related hardware.
- Proven ability to drive operational excellence and security, including root cause analysis, cybersecurity best practices, project coordination, vendor management, documentation, change testing, and independent resolution of complex technical issues.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.
- Effective at managing multiple priorities by balancing infrastructure projects, support requests, business impact, and operational risks while making sound decisions and escalating when appropriate.
- Self-motivated and adaptable professional, who can work independently, quickly learn new technologies, and apply new knowledge to support and administration responsibilities.
- Collaborative team player with strong stakeholder management skills, able to work effectively with IT teams, vendors, leadership, and business users to achieve successful outcomes.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills, including clear technical documentation, effective verbal and written communication, and the ability to explain complex issues, risks, and resolutions to both technical and non-technical audiences.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Close visual acuity and repetitive movements of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers to operate standard office equipment required. Will need to walk short distances and may occasionally exert up to 10 pounds of force to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
