What We Need:
We are seeking a 1st and 2nd shift facilities custodian for our Hanover, PA buildings. This person would be responsible for cleaning the facilities, shop floor, common areas and the grounds outside the buildings. This is a full-time position and would be required to drive from one plant to another in Hanover.
Responsibilities:
- Clean floor and wall surfaces to control dust
- Operate commercial cleaning equipment; vacuums, scrubbers, blowers, etc.
- Able to be forklift certified
- Vacuum
- Mop
- Dust
- Clean interior and exterior windows
- Clean and replenish supplies for the office & production area restrooms and locker rooms throughout the shift.
- Pick up debris on the grounds
- Baling cardboard
- Empty production floor trash containers
- Cleans and organizes break rooms
- Painting; lines on floors, walls, etc.
- Snow shoveling, salting
- Maintains a clean and safe work environment.
- Other tasks as assigned.
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs and stand for 8 hours per day.
- Have a valid driver’s license
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment with frequently changing dynamics.
- Ability to understand written and verbal instructions in English.
- Ability to work well with others and maintain a positive, courteous attitude, especially when cleaning in shared spaces during busy times.
- Ability to walk, bend, squat, and stand for extended periods.
- Thoroughness in cleaning and organizing areas like restrooms, cafeterias, and production spaces.
- Strong time management skills and consistent and punctual attendance.
- Ability to work independently and manage tasks without direct supervision, as this role operates as a team of one.
