Position Summary:
The scope of responsibility for this position is to supervise the production control coordinators to ensure schedules are met and shipments to customers are completed on time. This will involve training of PCC employees and leading and directing all Manufacturing and Service PCC’s. As such, international travel will be required, depending on the workload. This position is an integral part of the global manufacturing team and operates regionally and globally as required with a focus on local operations success.
Responsibilities:
Ø Reporting of metrics to the Global Director of Disposable Containers, covering material shortage reports used to expedite material needs via collaboration with supply chain, quality and all other supporting departments.
Ø Continues as a DC PCC, including receiving and processing technical drawings, bills of materials and other specifications in a timely fashion, so as to expedite the needed materials for the shop floor manufacturing of customer ordered equipment, components, and sub-assemblies.
Ø Responsible for metrics including all issuing, tracking and closing of shop floor work orders, ensuring that required materials are supplied to the production floor, according to the released production schedules and date driven sub-floor plans.
Ø Expedites and prioritises work orders, material pick lists and all related materials needed by manufacturing to meet date driven commitments outlined on published schedules and date-driven plans.
Ø Works closely with project management and project controls personnel to ensure labour forecasts and project build progress measurements are updated, maintained and published on a regular basis.
Ø Supervises the material handlers and is responsible for inventory management and accuracy.
Ø Forecasting of materials
Ø Attends all project team meetings and completes assigned action list activities on a timely basis.
Ø Maintains weekly updates regarding posted manufacturing labour numbers.
Ø Execute other tasks as assigned.
Ø Ability to travel when required.
Qualifications:
Ø Bachelor’s degree (Level 8) preferred.
Ø 3-5 years of experience in a custom/specialty manufacturing environment.
Ø Experience with Excel (intermediate or higher skill level), data manipulation and statistics.
Ø MRP/ERP systems – Syteline experience a plus.
Ø Experience with Quality Systems and/or certification in Lean Manufacturing/Six Sigma is highly desirable.
Ø Functional experience with MS Office applications.
