Description
The Conservatory at Stephens College is seeking dependable, organized, and customer service-oriented Federal Work Study eligible students to assist with box office operations. This position plays a key role in supporting the front-of-house experience for Conservatory productions, ensuring a welcoming and efficient environment for patrons. Students will gain valuable experience in ticketing, event logistics, and theatre operations.

This position provides real-world experience in arts administration, customer service, and theatre front-of-house operations—valuable for students interested in producing, arts management, or public-facing roles in the performing arts industry.
Responsibilities:
- Provide in-person support at the box office before and during performances
- Sell and distribute tickets using the college’s ticketing system (training provided)
- Assist with box office setup, signage, and patron communications
- Greet guests, answer questions, and offer exceptional customer service
- Maintain a professional, organized box office environment
- Handle cash, credit card, and online transactions accurately
- Support general front-of-house operations, including ushering and lobby setup
- Uphold and promote safety, accessibility, and a positive patron experience
Preferred Skills:
- Must be eligible for Federal Work-Study and a Conservatory student
- Professional and courteous communication skills
- Comfortable interacting with the public and problem-solving in real time
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Punctual, reliable, and able to follow instructions
- Available to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends for performances
- Familiarity with theatre environments and performance schedules
- Experience handling money and using point-of-sale or ticketing software
Availability:
- Applicants must be available a minimum of two days per week for 1pm to 3pm shifts in the box office. Some weekend shifts will be required.
