Utility Driver- Mixer Truck, Flatbed, Dump, Quad, and Tanker

Purpose / General Description:

The Utility Driver is responsible for operating a Concrete Mixer Truck, Flatbed, Dump, Tanker, and Quad in compliance with DOT, OSHA and EPA regulations. Provide exceptional customer service by safely providing quality concrete and products to our customers. Perform all necessary cleaning and driver maintenance of the vehicles to ensure reliable and on-time operation.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Operate Equipment Safely and in Compliance with All Regulations: Comply with DOT regulations including Pre-Trip, Post Trip and DVIR (Vehicle Inspection Reporting) requirements. Obey all traffic and safety rules.
  • Maintain safety awareness: wear all PPE consistently, perform all tasks in a safe manner and ensure others always work safely. Bring awareness to issues and potential issues (near miss) as discovered. 
  • Deliver high-quality materials safely and on time Ensure compliance with work instructions while driving a Mixer, Flatbed, Dump, Tanker, and Quad truck when needed.
  • Perform Driver Maintenance Activities: Complete pre-trip, post-trip, and inspection reports (DVIR) Deliver high-quality materials safely and on time 
  • Comply with all Data Reporting Requirements: Complete documents accurately and completely as required for internal records, customer specifications and regulatory requirements. Report on non-standard conditions.
  • Perform Plant Maintenance Activities: Consistently perform maintenance on all Trucks and report issues.
  • Present a Professional Image: Consistently provide exceptional customer service, always act professionally and maintain a positive attitude and productive relationship with all customers and team members. 
  • Other duties as assigned and full compliance with all company policies and procedures as described in the Company handbook. 


 

Requirements
  • Safely operate concrete mixer, flatbed, Dump, and tanker trucks in compliance with DOT and company standards
  • Complete pre-trip, post-trip, and inspection reports (DVIR)
  • 3-5 years’ Class A experience Driving 
  • Work closely with dispatch, plant teams, and quality personnel
  • Maintain and clean your assigned truck
  • Provide professional, reliable service to customers at every stop
  • Valid NC CDL Class A license with NO RESTRICTIONS preferred
  • Knowledge of load securement and willingness to train on all Class A Vehicles 
  • Clean driving record

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to pass a criminal background and Clearinghouse checks
  • Strong safety record and strong work ethic
  • This role is hands-on and active. Drivers must be able to:
  • Lift up to 75 lbs.
  • Climb ladders and access truck equipment
  • Sit, stand, and remain active for extended periods
  • Bend, twist, reach, kneel, and crouch as needed
  • Use hands and arms for vehicle operation and equipment handling
  • Maintain awareness of surroundings, including sounds, movement, and visual details
