Heartline Staffing, in partnership with Purple Cow Recruiting, is hiring a Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) for a school-based outpatient opportunity in Stuart, Virginia. This is an excellent opportunity for an FNP who wants predictable weekday hours, independent practice, meaningful community impact, and the opportunity to care for children, adolescents, and school-system staff.

The Family Nurse Practitioner will provide direct medical care within a school-based clinic serving elementary, middle, and high school students as well as school staff. The provider will practice independently with oversight and support from a Medical Director.

POSITION OVERVIEW

This is an acute-care-focused outpatient position combining clinical autonomy with leadership support. The FNP should be comfortable independently evaluating and treating patients and performing hands-on minor procedures, including suturing.

PATIENT POPULATION

The FNP will provide direct medical care to:

• Elementary School Students
• Middle School Students
• High School Students
• School-System Staff

Candidates should enjoy working with pediatric and adolescent populations and be comfortable providing acute medical care across the populations served by the clinic.

CLINICAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide school-based outpatient medical care
• Evaluate and treat acute medical conditions
• Provide direct hands-on patient care
• Independently assess and manage patients
• Care for pediatric and adolescent populations
• Provide care to school-system staff
• Perform minor procedures, including suturing
• Coordinate with the Medical Director as appropriate
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation
• Provide patient and family education
• Support community-based healthcare delivery

INDEPENDENT PRACTICE

This position requires a provider who is confident practicing independently. The FNP will have oversight from a Medical Director but must be comfortable making clinical decisions, evaluating acute presentations, developing treatment plans, and determining when additional consultation or escalation is appropriate.

MINOR PROCEDURES

The position includes hands-on acute care and minor procedures. Candidates should be confident performing procedures such as suturing and comfortable managing the types of minor injuries and acute concerns commonly encountered in an outpatient setting.
