What we offer: 

· Salary: $18.00 - $19.00

Job Functions:

The Community Engagement and Donor Experience Coordinator supports Metropolitan Ministries' community engagement efforts by fostering meaningful relationships with donors, volunteers, businesses, faith communities, civic organizations, and community partners. This position helps grow participation in donation drives, in-kind giving, volunteerism, and community partnership opportunities that advance the organization's mission. The Coordinator provides excellent customer service, supports donor and volunteer engagement activities, coordinates community initiatives and events, and maintains accurate records to ensure a positive and impactful experience for all stakeholders.


Essential Responsibilities:


Community Engagement & Partnership Development

  • Support community engagement strategies that grow participation through donation drives, in-kind giving, volunteerism, and community partnerships.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for donors, volunteers, organizations, and community groups, ensuring a positive engagement experience.
  • Build and strengthen relationships that advance awareness, support, and investment in the mission.

Program & Donor Support

  • Coordinate community giving initiatives, special collections, and volunteer opportunities in collaboration with internal teams and community partners.
  • Support donor stewardship, recognition, and engagement activities that encourage continued involvement and philanthropy.
  • Participate in community, donor, and organizational events, including seasonal and holiday initiatives.

Administration & Team Collaboration

  • Maintain accurate records, reporting, and donor engagement activities within organizational systems.
  • Support departmental goals, key performance indicators, and cross-functional initiatives.
  • Collaborate effectively with staff, volunteers, and community partners to achieve organizational objectives.

Mission, Culture & Professionalism

  • Demonstrate commitment to the mission, values, and ethical standards of Metropolitan Ministries.
  • Maintain professional, compassionate, and respectful interactions with donors, volunteers, clients, and community stakeholders.
  • Support ongoing learning and development to enhance community engagement and fundraising effectiveness.
  • Meet personal goals and actively contribute to the achievement of team and organizational targets/goals as stated on the KPI and in the annual plan. Attend required staff meetings and on-going trainings. Complete other duties as assigned. 
Requirements

Education and Experience:

High school diploma required; college coursework or degree preferred. Experience in customer service, community engagement, volunteer management, fundraising, nonprofit operations, or related fields preferred.


Skills Requirements:

Strong communication, relationship-building, organizational, and customer service skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM/database systems. Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently and collaboratively, and maintain attention to detail. Commitment to serving diverse populations and advancing the mission of Metropolitan Ministries. Ability to work occasional evenings, weekends, and holiday periods as needed.


Physical Requirements:

Ability to sit or stand for extended periods. Ability to lift up to 20 pounds. Flexible schedule, including availability for occasional evenings and weekends for events. Ability to work in indoor and outdoor environments, including events and temporary settings. Stamina to meet the physical, emotional, and spiritual demands of the role.


Other:
