The Gig

The Sr. Software Engineer (Mobile) designs, develops, and maintains the mobile version of VEXIS — VizyPay's proprietary CRM platform. This is a ground-floor (0?1) product mandate: the role owns mobile architecture and delivery end-to-end, from the technology approach recommendation through distribution in the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. As a hands-on individual contributor with technical mentorship responsibilities, the role establishes VizyPay's mobile engineering standards. Operating in a security- and compliance-driven payments environment, the role is accountable for a secure, performant, and reliably released mobile experience in production.

Mobile Architecture & Technical Leadership

  • Own the architecture, security, and performance of VEXIS mobile across iOS and Android; lead the native vs. cross-platform evaluation and own the recommendation, weighing cost, performance, maintainability, and alignment with VizyPay's existing TypeScript/Angular engineering stack.
  • Define and enforce mobile engineering standards — project structure, state management, offline-first data, testing, and accessibility — and mentor engineers through code reviews, pairing, and design reviews as a hands-on individual contributor.
  • Work within an Agile software development environment, collaborating closely with Product, Engineering, UX/UI, and other stakeholders throughout the software development lifecycle using Agile methodologies and best practices; align the mobile roadmap with platform architecture, security controls, and product roadmaps in partnership with Information Technology (Infrastructure & Security, Software Engineering).

Engineering & Delivery

  • Design, develop, and maintain the VEXIS mobile application: API integration with backend services (REST, WebSockets), push notifications (APNs/FCM), offline-first synchronization, and a responsive, performant user experience.
  • Build and operate mobile CI/CD and release management (e.g., Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, fastlane): automated builds, code signing, and store submission workflows through App Store Connect and Google Play Console, with staged rollouts and release-health monitoring.
  • Implement automated testing across the mobile stack (e.g., XCTest, Espresso, Detox, Appium, Maestro) with quality gates; monitor crash and performance data (e.g., Firebase Crashlytics, Sentry) to drive root cause resolution.

Security & Compliance

  • Engineer the application secure-by-design, aligned with PCI DSS and OWASP MASVS/MASTG: secure storage (Keychain/Keystore), certificate pinning, secure token and session handling, and least-privilege API access.
  • Partner with InfraSec on mobile threat modeling, logging, monitoring, and audit readiness; operate all production releases under formal change management with audit-ready change records.
Requirements

Ready to Level Up?

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience required.
  • Required 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with a strong mobile emphasis, including 3+ years shipping and operating production mobile applications distributed through the Apple App Store and Google Play Store, with accountability for quality, performance, and outcomes.
  • Certifications: Google Associate Android Developer (AAD), App Development with Swift Associate, App Development with Swift Certified User, or equivalent certifications, preferred.
  • Experience in security- or compliance-constrained environments (e.g., PCI DSS, SOC 2, or financial services regulation), delivering under formal SDLC and change management within Agile development environments.
  • Proven ability to translate business and product requirements into shipped mobile capabilities with measurable outcomes, and to explain complex concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Expertise with mobile platforms: production iOS and Android development — native toolchains (Swift/SwiftUI, Kotlin/Jetpack Compose) and/or cross-platform frameworks (e.g., React Native, Flutter, Ionic/Capacitor).
  • Mobile testing: automated unit, UI, and end-to-end testing (e.g., XCTest, Espresso, Detox, Appium, Maestro) with quality gates.
  • Secure mobile engineering: OWASP MASVS/MASTG, secure storage (Keychain/Keystore), certificate pinning, and secure token and session handling.
  • Release engineering: App Store Connect and Google Play Console submission and review workflows, code signing, staged rollouts, and release management tooling (e.g., fastlane).
  • Expertise in CI/CD and tooling: pipeline engineering with Azure DevOps and/or GitHub Actions; development in VS Code or platform IDEs; strong Git fluency.
  • Experience with API integration: RESTful services, real-time patterns (e.g., WebSockets), efficient client-side caching, push notifications (APNs/FCM), and offline-first data synchronization.
  • Observability: crash and performance monitoring (e.g., Firebase Crashlytics, Sentry) and release-health analysis.
  • Strong TypeScript/JavaScript and computer science fundamentals (data structures, algorithms, design patterns) applied to production codebases.
  • Track record of technical leadership: mentoring, code and design review, or engineering standards ownership.

Take Your Career To The Next Level!

  • Experience in payments, fintech, banking, or another regulated financial domain, or with CRM or field-workforce mobile products.
  •  0?1 mobile product establishment: greenfield architecture, first store launch, and framework-selection ownership.
  • Angular/TypeScript familiarity (alignment with VizyPay's frontend stack) or backend familiarity (e.g., Node.js/NestJS, PostgreSQL) as it influences mobile data modeling.
  • Mobile accessibility standards, product analytics and experimentation, and feature flagging with progressive rollout strategies.
