Pay varies by position and is based on multiple factors including labor market data and, depending on position, may include education, work experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, and/or certifications. Additionally, Sportech takes into account the internal equity of current employees when considering compensation. Sportech’s reasonable and good-faith estimate for the range of new hire compensation at the time of posting for this position is between $105,000 - $130,000 annually. Pay may also include variable compensation from time to time such as overtime for non-exempt positions, shift differential for specific shifts, and/or bonus targets (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
Job Summary
As a Sourcing Manager at Sportech, you will handle all aspects of the strategic sourcing lifecycle in collaboration with both internal and external partners. You will partner with several stakeholders in bringing new products to life for our customers. You will drive sourcing strategy to support both new and existing product lines, optimize supplier matrix, and help to achieve company financial goals. You will use your skills in negotiation and critical thinking to deliver value to the customer while maximizing bottom line value to Sportech.
Essential Job Functions
- Manage overall spend across assigned commodity categories.
- Identify and execute against opportunities to improve company profitability, operational excellence, and quality.
- Develop and maintain strategic supplier matrix, ensuring the support of current and future company initiatives.
- Structure cost reduction programs using value analysis/value engineering (VA/VE) techniques, reduce supply chain complexities, and supply chain risk.
- Lead the development and implementation of supplier and/or commodity strategy which will include spend/supply assessments, consolidation strategy, sourcing selection, financial and sourcing analyses.
- Develop category sourcing plans, identify potential suppliers that havenew technologies or capabilities as required, part requirements documentation, RFI and RFQs, bid and price analysis, negotiation and contract award, supplier performance management, total cost of ownership analysis.
- Negotiate complex agreements with global suppliers, taking quality, timeliness of delivery, technology, pricing, terms, tooling costs, service, and possible protection of IP into consideration.
- Develop contingency plans to mitigate risk. May negotiate blanket contracts to maximize savings over multiple years of spend, including performance clauses and all other terms and conditions.
- Conduct periodic reviews of supplier performance and establish goals for on-time delivery, quality, and cost reductions.
- Ensure repeatable product quality from supply base with minimal inventory and no disruptions to production.
- Make recommendations to improve productivity, quality, and efficiency of operations.
- Develop and manage supplier contract database and all pertinent supplier related legal documents (NDA’s, etc.)
- Partner with Engineering, Project Management and Quality to align design with our strategic base, improve reliability and accuracy, provide project support, timeline execution, reduce overall business costs, and mitigate risk to the organization.
- Provide support for new product launches; supplier selection, requests for quotes and assurance that suppliers are clear on product launch deliverables; collaborate with cross-functional teams for successful launch.
- Develop relationships with key suppliers as well as other disciplines within the businesses. Represent the ‘voice of the supplier’ in the organization.
- Lead by example and in alignment with company core beliefs and values.
- May coach and develop employees to maximize their effectiveness and career growth. Identify and develop high potential employees for greater levels of responsibility and scope of position.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, supply chain or engineering strongly preferred.
- Five+ years of increasing responsibilities required; manufacturing environment preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with ability to influence key stakeholders and cross-functional partners.
- Demonstrated track record of RFP development, sourcing processes, strategies execution, project management and transition plans.
- Detail oriented strategic thinker.
- Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
- Exhibits business acumen and analytical capabilities required.
- Comfortable with ambiguity – flexible and adaptable.
- Microsoft Outlook, Advanced Excel skills required, Epicor experience strongly preferred.
- Some travel required.
