About Us: Headquartered in Chicago, Performance Trust Capital Partners, LLC is an investment bank that combines Wall Street scale with the agility of an independent, employee-owned firm. We help financial institutions uncover overlooked opportunities, navigate complexity, and make decisions grounded in insight—not impulse. Our work is focused on long-term impact and relationships built on what matters most: trust and enduring performance.
About the Position:
Performance Trust Capital Partners is seeking an Associate to join our Client Insights & Analytics (CIA) team. This role is designed for an analytical, engaging professional who is ready to grow into an increasingly impactful role while working closely with senior CIA leaders and receiving direct training and mentorship. The Associate will connect financial and data analysis with clear communication—turning ideas into actionable insights, client-ready content, presentations, and recommendations for banks, credit unions, and other financial institutions.
This is a remote role that requires strong self-direction, clear internal and external communication, and comfort receiving most coaching and feedback in a remote environment. The Associate will also have opportunities to support client education programs and events, including Custom Strategy Sessions and Survive or Thrive, with travel to events as needed.
Specifically, this individual will be responsible for the following:
Client & Industry Insights
- Develop a deep understanding of Performance Trust’s capital allocation methodology and support the CIA team in broadening and deepening adherence to that methodology.
- Transform raw data into clear, actionable insights that support prudent capital allocation across multiple scenarios and over time.
- Analyze large and complex data sets using financial, statistical, and analytical methods; interpret results and communicate the implications to internal and external stakeholders.
- Maintain and enhance existing analytical frameworks and tools while collaborating with relevant internal stakeholders to design, develop, and deploy new resources.
- Conduct research using primary and secondary sources to identify actionable insights related to financial institutions, markets, and industry trends.
- Contribute to the development of content for firm-wide education events, client calls, presentations, and other communications.
- Translate analytical thinking into clear written and verbal recommendations that help move ideas into action.
Client Engagement
- Partner with Balance Sheet Strategy and Investment Banking teams to educate clients and prospects.
- Support the creation and delivery of clear, compelling messaging on market insights and strategy, ensuring content reflects the analytical rigor that defines the firm.
- Assist in the strategy development process for Custom Strategy Sessions and other client-focused initiatives.
- Create client-ready content, presentation materials, and event materials that communicate complex findings in an accessible and engaging way.
- Support and participate in client education programs and events, including Custom Strategy Sessions and Survive or Thrive, with opportunities to attend alongside senior team members and travel to events as needed.
- Build trusted relationships through frequent, thoughtful communication with internal partners, clients, prospects, and other external stakeholders.
We are seeking candidates with the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required; concentration in finance, economics, statistics, data analytics, or a related field preferred.
- Approximately 3–5 years of relevant experience after college in financial services, banking, credit unions, consulting, data analysis, statistics, or related field.
- Experience working with financial institutions—particularly community banks or credit unions—and the ability to connect financial concepts with data-driven analysis.
- Strong technical proficiency, including the ability to analyze large data sets and build, interpret, and explain complex financial models.
- CFA designation, or progress toward the CFA designation, is a plus.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to speak confidently, present to groups, and communicate complex ideas clearly to varied audiences.
- Experience creating client-facing content, presentations, educational materials, or event content is preferred.
- Engaging personality with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with internal and external stakeholders.
- Entrepreneurial, self-directed mindset; comfortable creating structure, owning deliverables, seeking feedback remotely, and operating with independence.
- Intellectual curiosity and a willingness to ask “Why?”, challenge convention, and turn thoughtful analysis into practical action.
- Keen attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and comfort managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to travel to events as needed.
- Candidates must be eligible to work permanently in the United States without sponsorship.
