THE ROLE
The Senior Vice President, Wealth Advisor is a highly experienced advisor responsible for providing sophisticated wealth planning guidance to clients and serving as a valuable resource to colleagues across the Wealth Management team. This individual manages a select group of complex client relationships and collaborates with other advisors on the firm's most sophisticated planning engagements. The role requires deep expertise across wealth management disciplines and the ability to apply that expertise to help clients navigate complex financial, family, trust, estate, tax, and philanthropic matters.
In addition to direct client responsibilities, the SVP, Wealth Advisor contributes to the continued development of the advisory platform by sharing knowledge, serving as a resource to colleagues, identifying opportunities for improvement, and helping enhance the quality and consistency of advice delivered across the firm. This individual is also expected to contribute to the firm's growth by cultivating trusted relationships with clients, prospective clients, and centers of influence, identifying opportunities to deepen existing relationships, and helping attract new client relationships that align with Truxton's culture, capabilities, and long-term vision.
The ideal candidate combines strong technical knowledge, sound judgment, intellectual curiosity, business development acumen, and a collaborative approach to serving clients, supporting colleagues, and contributing to the continued growth and success of the firm.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
- Serving as a trusted advisor, anticipating client needs and providing world-class service to our clients in an accurate and professional manner
- Helping clients to articulate long-term financial and family goals; implementing plans to position clients for optimal personal and financial outcomes
- Maintaining deep and up-to-date knowledge of Wealth clients’ financial and family situation and frequent communication with Wealth clients
- Reviewing estate planning documents, preparing materials for client presentations, and analyzing complex planning issues
- Preparing presentations and facilitating ongoing client reviews in close coordination with other Wealth professionals
- Establishing and maintaining business relationships with outside centers of influence such as CPAs, attorneys, local advisory board members, civic associations, etc. to enhance Wealth business development efforts
- Serving as a thought leader and internal resource on various wealth management topics and supporting the development of the Wealth team
- Staying abreast of changing economic, legal, financial planning, investment trends, and general market and business issues
- Develop and maintain meaningful relationships with attorneys, accountants, family office professionals, and other advisors serving affluent individuals and families.
- Contribute to the growth of the firm through the development of new client relationships and the expansion of existing client relationships where appropriate.
- Leverage professional expertise, credibility, and community involvement to strengthen Truxton's reputation and visibility within the markets it serves.
- Collaborate with colleagues across the firm to identify opportunities to deliver additional value to clients and prospects.
- Participate in professional, civic, charitable, and community organizations that support relationship development and business growth.
- Contribute to thought leadership, educational initiatives, and client-facing activities that reinforce Truxton's position as a trusted advisor to wealthy individuals and families.
Attributes and Abilities
- Mastery of complex planning techniques for wealthy families and individuals
- Extensive knowledge of wealth transfer strategies, tax guidance, trust administration, and estate planning
- Proven track record in business development, sales, and client service
- History of building a network of professionals that overlap and provide services to Wealth families
- Ability to serve as a leader, embracing our culture of entrepreneurship and teamwork
Experience and Skills
- 15+ years in a wealth management role; CPA or JD experience preferred
- Proficient with Microsoft Office; experience with trust accounting platforms, Black Diamond Wealth Platform, or financial services CRM platforms preferred
Education and Designations
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics preferred
- Advanced Degree, JD, or MBA preferred
- Professional Designation (CFP, CTFA, CFA, CPA, etc.) preferred
