We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accountant to join our Finance team at American-Marsh Pumps. Reporting to the Controller, this position will support American-Marsh Pumps' accounting and financial reporting activities while also providing financial support to QuantumFlo.
This is a hands-on opportunity for an accounting professional with ambitions to gain experience in manufacturing finance, multi-entity accounting, financial reporting, and business operations while working closely with leaders across the organization.
What You'll Do
- Maintain general ledger accounts and prepare monthly journal entries with appropriate supporting documentation.
- Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities.
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations, financial schedules, and monthly reporting packages.
- Reconcile cash, banking activity, accruals, prepaid expenses, travel expenses, and other assigned accounts.
- Assist with inventory accounting and reconciliations and help resolve discrepancies.
- Coordinate and reconcile intercompany transactions between American-Marsh Pumps, QuantumFlo, and other related entities.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and corporate reporting requirements.
- Provide documentation and support for internal and external audits.
- Ensure accounting activities comply with company policies, internal controls, and U.S. GAAP.
- Partner with Operations, Supply Chain, Sales, Purchasing, and management to provide accurate financial information.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting, reconciliations, and month-end close activities.
- Participate in financial system improvements and special projects as assigned.
What We're Looking For
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
- 2+ years of progressive accounting experience.
- Experience with general ledger accounting, journal entries, month-end close, financial reporting, and account reconciliations.
- Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and internal controls.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating across departments and business units.
Preferred
- Manufacturing accounting experience.
- Public accounting experience.
- Inventory or multi-entity accounting experience.
- Experience supporting financial audits.
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics NAV/Business Central, QuickBooks, SAP Concur, or similar financial systems.
