JOB SUMMARY: The Professional Development Education Manager oversees the planning, implementation, evaluation, and
administration of the Trone Professional Development Academy (TPDA). This role manages program operations,
participant support, curriculum development, stakeholder engagement, budget oversight, and program evaluation
to ensure professional development initiatives align with organizational goals and workforce development needs.
The position also serves as Manager on Duty (MOD) as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibility: No supervisory responsibility. Will serve as Manager on Duty (MOD) for 3-4 staff.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
TPDA Program Management (60%)
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the Trone Professional Development Academy (TPDA).
- Collaborate with agency leadership to develop and implement professional development initiatives aligned with organizational goals.
- Establish annual program goals, timelines, and performance measures.
- Manage participant enrollment, records, benefits, reimbursements, and required documentation.
- Develop and monitor program budgets and expenditures.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for program participants, staff, and external stakeholders.
- Review and update program policies, procedures, forms, and operating plans.
- Conduct staff learning needs assessments to identify development priorities.
- Build and maintain partnerships with educational institutions, training providers, and community stakeholders.
- Collaborate with Finance, Development, and other departments to support program implementation and reporting requirements.
- Represent Catholic Charities in meetings and activities related to professional development initiatives.
Program Evaluation and Curriculum Development
- Design and implement evaluation strategies to measure program effectiveness and participant outcomes.
- Collect, analyze, and interpret qualitative and quantitative data.
- Prepare reports and presentations for leadership, funders, and other stakeholders.
- Recommend program improvements based on evaluation findings.
- Collaborate on quarterly and annual grant and funder reports.
- Oversee curriculum development and enhancement for TPDA and Leadership Development Program
- initiatives.
- Ensure curriculum design incorporates adult learning principles and instructional best practices.
- Partner with subject matter experts, training staff, and leadership to develop learning objectives, activities, and supporting materials.
- Research and identify external instructors, trainers, and continuing education opportunities.
Staff Support and Participant Services (30%)
- Lead recruitment, outreach, and application processes for Professional Development Academy programs.
- Conduct informational sessions regarding program eligibility, benefits, and requirements.
- Review applications and support participant selection processes.
- Provide guidance and support to employees pursuing external certifications, licensure, and professional development opportunities.
- Coordinate support sessions, exam preparation resources, and participant communications.
- Monitor participant progress and assist with issue resolution throughout program participation.
Professional Development Operations (10%)
- Support agency-wide professional development and training initiatives.
- Co-facilitate in-person and virtual training sessions as needed.
- Assist with training logistics, scheduling, facilities, equipment, and learning management system activities.
- Troubleshoot operational and process-related challenges.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Organizational Development, Human Resources, Social Work, Adult Learning, Education, or related field.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in learning and development, curriculum development, instructional design, or human services work environment, ideally in a social services or behavioral health setting.
- Professional facilitation training or background as professional educator.
- Experience managing programs, projects, or initiatives with multiple stakeholders.
Preferred Experience:
- Project management certification or formal project management training.
- Program evaluation and impact assessment experience.
- Bilingual Spanish proficiency.
- Supervisory or team leadership experience.
SKILLS and COMPETENCIES:
- Knowledge of adult learning principles, instructional design practices, and professional development strategies.
- Knowledge of program evaluation and outcome measurement.
- Demonstrated ability to collect, analyze, and present data in a clear and concise manner to diverse audiences.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Learning Management (LMS) and e-learning technologies.
