Environmental Chemist and/or Environmental Data Specialist

Hana Engineers and Consultants, LLC is seeking to hire an Environmental Chemist and/or Environmental Data Specialist to support environmental remediation projects for federal, state, and commercial clients. The ideal candidate will have a chemistry, environmental science, or related technical degree; 5 to 10 years of relevant experience; and strong attention to detail in laboratory coordination, analytical data review, and environmental database management. 


Location: This is a remote position. Occasional travel may be required to support project site visits, client meetings, training, or collaboration at Hana office locations. 


Core Roles/Responsibilities: 

  • Coordinate with analytical laboratories, project managers, field teams, and senior technical staff to support sampling events, laboratory analyses, data deliverables, and project reporting needs. 
  • Review laboratory analytical data packages and data validation reports for completeness, quality control compliance, data usability, and consistency with project planning documents, laboratory methods, and client requirements. 
  • Assist with environmental data management using platforms and agency-required formats such as EQuIS, FUDSCHEM, ERPIMS, and related database or electronic data deliverable systems. 
  • Support preparation, tracking, and quality control of sample IDs, chains of custody, laboratory requests, electronic data deliverables, data validation packages, and final project data submittals. 
  • Work directly with senior project staff to support environmental investigations, remediation projects, compliance reporting, and data-driven technical deliverables. 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, environmental science, geology, engineering, data science, or a closely related technical field. 
  • 5 to 10 years of relevant experience supporting environmental investigation, remediation, laboratory coordination, data review, or environmental data management projects. 
  • Working knowledge of analytical chemistry data, laboratory reports, quality assurance/quality control requirements, and environmental sampling documentation. 
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to support multiple projects and deadlines in a collaborative team environment. 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other common data management, reporting, and document preparation tools. 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with EQuIS, FUDSCHEM, ERPIMS, ADR.NET, or other environmental database and electronic data deliverable systems. 
  • Experience supporting federal environmental programs, including projects for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Department of War, or other government clients. 
  • Familiarity with data validation, Department of Defense Quality Systems Manual requirements, PFAS or emerging contaminant data, and environmental remediation reporting. 

Salary Range: $70,000–$90,000 annually, commensurate with experience, qualifications, technical capabilities, and relevant environmental database/data validation experience.
