Why Birdeye?
Birdeye is the leading agentic marketing platform for multi-location brands.
Companies like H&R Block, Aspen Dental, and Caesars Entertainment use Birdeye to manage marketing across thousands of locations — from how they get found, to how they convert, to how they retain customers. Our platform replaces disconnected point tools with AI agents that execute work at the location level — responding to reviews, updating listings, publishing content, and driving conversions.
Backed by Marc Benioff, Jerry Yang, and Accel-KKR, Birdeye was named to G2’s 2026 Best Agentic AI Products list — appearing alongside the world’s leading AI companies. We’re expanding rapidly into enterprise, with growing adoption across large, multi-location brands.
About the Role
Growth now depends on being cited, not only ranked. When a multi-location brand asks ChatGPT, Perplexity, or Google's AI answers who to trust for reviews, listings, and local visibility, the answer is assembled largely from third-party editorial: trade press, analyst commentary, industry roundups, credible reporting. Our own pages alone do not get us into that answer. This role owns Birdeye's organic marketing: everything that earns us attention rather than buys it. You will run our digital PR and link acquisition program end to end, finding the stories worth telling, building the media relationships to place them, and earning the coverage and links that put Birdeye in front of buyers and inside AI answers. Alongside it, you will carry the SEO fundamentals that make earned authority pay off on site. We treat earned coverage, authority, and organic search as one motion rather than three separate programs, and this role is where they come together. This is a hands-on role. You will research, pitch, write, negotiate, and follow up yourself, across our US, UK, and Australia markets.
Responsibilities
Digital PR and earned coverage
- Own Birdeye's digital PR program end to end: story development, target list, pitch, placement, and follow-through.
- Build and maintain working relationships with editors, journalists, and contributors across martech, local marketing, AI search, and the industry trades we sell into (dental, home services, automotive, healthcare, retail, financial services).
- Turn Birdeye's proprietary data into stories the press actually wants: original research, benchmarks, and trend analysis drawn from thousands of locations.
- Place bylines, expert commentary, and executive quotes on publications with real editorial standards and real readership.
- Qualify every target before investing in it. A site counts only if it ranks in Google or is demonstrably picked up by AI answer engines. Volume on sites that do neither is not the goal.
Links and Authority
- Grow Birdeye's authority-domain link profile across the US, UK, and Australia, with quality judged on domain strength, topical relevance, and real traffic rather than raw count.
- Run guest post and listicle placements where they still earn their place, and retire the ones that do not.
- Manage outreach vendors and freelance contributors, hold them to the same quality bar, and cut what underperforms.
AI visibility and SEO
- Track where and how Birdeye is cited across ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, and Google's AI surfaces, and work the off-page levers that move it.
- Partner with Content on the topics, formats, and pages that earn citations and links, and feed back what the press and the models actually pick up.
- Handle core SEO execution alongside the PR motion: keyword and gap analysis, on-page optimization, internal linking, technical hygiene, and the reporting that ties all of it to pipeline.
What You Bring
Required
- 4 to 7 years in SEO, digital PR, or earned media, with the majority of that time spent on off- page work.
- A portfolio of placements you personally earned. We want the story, the publication, and how you got in the door, not an agency's aggregate numbers.
- Existing working relationships with editors, journalists, or contributors, and the confidence to build new ones cold.
- Strong writing. You can pitch in three sentences and draft a byline an editor will run with light edits.
- Solid SEO fundamentals: how links, relevance, and authority move rankings, and how to read Google Search Console, Ahrefs, or SEMrush and act on what you see.
- The judgment to turn down a placement that will not perform, and the data to back that call.
Strongly Preferred
- B2B SaaS experience, ideally in marketing technology or local / multi-location marketing.
- Coverage earned in US, UK, or Australian media.
- A track record of original, data-led research or studies that got picked up.
- Working knowledge of how AI answer engines select and cite sources.
- Comfort using AI tools in your own workflow for research, drafting, prospect qualification, and reporting.
What Success Looks Like
- Birdeye shows up in the publications our buyers read, on the topics we want to own.
- Our link profile gets stronger on quality, not merely longer on count.
- Birdeye is cited more often in AI answers for local and multi-location visibility, and you can explain what earned each citation.
- You have a repeatable pipeline of stories and relationships, so coverage does not depend on any single campaign.
- The SEO fundamentals stay handled, without the PR work ever being the thing that slips.
What to Include With Your Application
- Three to five placements you personally earned, with a line each on the angle you pitched and why it landed.
- One pitch that did not land, and what you learned from it.
