As a key member of the Executive Leadership Team, the VP of Accounting & Finance is responsible for providing direction and management to the accounting & purchasing team while managing the organization’s financial reporting, internal control, credit, collections, budgeting/cash flow management, forecasting, insurance coverage, and general business. This is a hands-on position that is responsible for the direction of the fiscal functions of the corporation in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and other regulatory and advisory organizations and in accordance with financial management techniques and practices appropriate within the industry. This position is a strategic business partner who works closely with the Chief Executive Officer and Production management team to provide timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial reports, and financial trends in order to assist in growing organizational sales and profitability.
Key Responsibilities:
· Direct the organization’s finance activity including accounting, strategic planning, budgeting, forecasting, cash management, acquisitions, reporting, banking relationships, working capital, and FP&A in order to support the existing core businesses and potential acquisition opportunities.
· Oversee the efficient day-to-day accounting and purchasing functions, including billing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, contract management, cash management, expense control, payroll, 401(k), general ledger entry and all related reporting.
· Preparation and analysis of all internal and external financial data including month-end close, budgets, forecasts, financial statements, monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting. Provides information to the leadership and management team monthly and presents at Executive and Board level meetings.
· Manages the timely collection of receivables each month.
· Creates monthly and annual budgets and reports on budget to actual results.
· Works closely with the Purchasing Department and production managers to ensure that inventory is controlled and purchases as a percentage of sales are aligned with the goals of all divisions.
· Provides insights and inspires action on driving business optimization strategies. Maintains deep ownership and accountability on understanding the flow of revenue and costs through the business to identify opportunities and support decision making.
· Communicates and interacts with the company’s private equity partner as well as members of the Board of Directors.
· Manages and coordinates with private equity partner and other consultants on financial statement review, corporate income taxes, banking and legal, as well as transactions and other corporate matters.
· Monitors and analyzes anticipated short-term and long-term cash flow to control capital expenditures, inventory, receivables, payables, and debt levels.
· Responsible for compliance with all relevant local, state, and federal payroll and employment taxes and other corporate business regulations and filing requirements.
· Sustains a positive, productive relationship with all external vendors, including banking, insurance providers, etc.
· Lead strategic planning sessions including long- and short-range planning while actively strengthening budget, forecast, and cash management planning
· Prepares short-term and long-term projections of BonaDent’s financials based on management’s strategic expansion objectives and statistical trend analysis by market.
· Supports business partner in analyzesing new opportunities, equipment, and product purchases in order to evaluate pricing and return on investment.
· Presents financial and operational alternatives to Chief Executive Officer to illustrate the impact of contemplated business transactions on bank covenants via financial modeling.
· Oversee the IT Department
· Develops and maintains company-wide checks and balances pertaining to financial policies/protocols. To ensure internal controls and safeguarding of financial assets.
· Maintains and updates financial policies and procedures, including internal control processes, accounts receivable, accounts payable, fixed assets, payroll, financial statements, and cash management functions.
· Maintains the accounting system and financial reports assuring the accuracy of such reports by periodically verifying the physical presence of the assets and reconciling the general ledger accounts to the appropriate underlying documents and schedules.
· Drives continuous improvement initiatives and special projects to streamline and consolidate business processes.
· Performance management of accounting, purchasing and IT team including frequent feedback, regularly scheduled meetings, reviews, corrective action, career paths, development plans and performance improvement plans.

· Ensures that the personnel policies and practices of the company are followed in order to ensure compliance with BonaDent policy, as well as state and federal regulations.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field required.
· 10 or more years of experience in a similar financial managerial position.
· Previous experience in a leadership position required.
· Experience working with private equity partners and acquisitions a plus.
· Tax planning experience.
· CPA a plus.
· A working knowledge of accounting policies and procedures, banking and investment techniques, insurance, supplier relationships, credit and collection techniques, and other similar business skills.
· Able to bring a “roll up the sleeves, do whatever it takes” philosophy to their work ethic; a strong desire to actively participate as a management stakeholder in key business discussions.

· Signing of a confidentiality and 2-year non-competition agreement.
· Ability to travel to satellite facilities from time to time.
