$17.25 per hour; 40 hours per week
Monday thru Friday 8am to 5pm
Responsible for evaluating client applications for Energy Assistance programs, ensuring accurate eligibility determinations, and guiding clients through the application process. Your work will directly impact individuals and families seeking support for their home heating needs, contributing to our mission of providing essential services to the community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately enter all client information required for energy assistance applications into the system.
- Verify the correctness and completeness of all submitted documentation.
- Determine client eligibility based on program criteria and available documentation.
- Configure income sources and convert them into monthly income figures for assessment.
- Notify clients of their award amount or ineligibility status in a clear and professional manner.
- Refer ineligible households to other available fuel assistance programs and resources.
- Maintain detailed records of client interactions and application statuses.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth processing of applications and compliance with program guidelines.
Skills and Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or experience in social services or related fields is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and documentation review.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to assess eligibility criteria and interpret program guidelines.
- Proficiency with computer systems, data management, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Compassionate and respectful approach when interacting with clients.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Prior experience in social services, case management, or related roles is a plus.
