A Day in the Life as an Administrative Assistant:
As an Administrative Assistant, you will greet and screen all visitors, answer and direct telephone calls, and maintain records and files as necessary for office operation. Your day will involve:
- Answering telephone inquiries, determining needs, and making appropriate referrals to Agency programs.
- Greeting and referring visitors or callers to appropriate staff and/or Agency programs.
- Organizing the food pantry and assisting eligible clients with their food pantry visit.
- Providing basic information for clients and referring them to outside local resources.
- Filing and completing general office duties as well other tasks assigned by the Area Center Site Coordinator.
Your role will directly contribute to a positive participant experience and to the overall operation of the Area Resource Center.
Qualifications to Be an Administrative Assistant in the Area Resource Center:
To excel in this role, you’ll need:
Experience:
- One year of prior office or customer service experience.
- Customer service skills and the ability to work with the public.
- Ability to work independently, multi-task, and maintain accuracy.
- Computer skills using Microsoft Word, Teams, and Excel.
