PTA - Academic Coordinator of Clinical Education Description
South College Asheville learning site located in Asheville, NC, is conducting a search for the position of Academic Coordinator of Clinical Education (ACCE) for the Physical Therapist Assistant Program (instructor/assistant professor/associate professor; commensurate with experience). This is a full-time, on ground campus-based position. Full-time faculty are responsible for teaching and student facing hours every week. 32 hours on ground and 8 remote hours per week.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate the clinical education component of the PTA program, including planning, scheduling, and grading of clinical assignments
- Collaborate with clinical educational faculty to address learning needs of students.
- Partner with clinical education sites to ensure high-quality educational experiences for all students.
- Maintain professional standards of practice in teaching in the classroom and clinical settings.
- Meet South College standards for course syllabi creation and submission, classroom management, use of technology, grade submission, and records management.
- Function as a part of South College and South College PTA faculty group. Participate in meetings, projects, recruiting, and committee work.
- Support student success through mentoring, tutoring, and advising.
Requirements
Education
- Graduate from an accredited PTA or PT program
- Bachelor's degree in related field required. Master's degree preferred.
Experience
- A minimum of three years of full-time clinical experience
- Two years of experience as a clinical instructor or experience in teaching, curriculum development, and administration required
Licensure
- Active, unencumbered PT or PTA license
