Position Overview:
The Boys & Girls Club of Clifton is seeking a responsible, organized, and child-focused Preschool Before & After Care Site Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of an assigned preschool before and after care site.
The Site Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the safety, supervision, and well-being of children while providing leadership and direction to program staff. This position oversees daily program operations, staff coverage, attendance, family communication, documentation, safety procedures, and compliance with Boys & Girls Club policies and applicable New Jersey Department of Children and Families (NJDCF) childcare requirements.
The Site Supervisor serves as the primary on-site leader during before and after care hours and works closely with the CELA Coordinator, Director of Early Childhood Education, preschool teachers, administrative staff, and families to ensure a consistent, high-quality experience for children.
Key Responsibilities:
Site Operations & Program Management
- Oversee daily before and after care operations.
- Maintain appropriate staff-to-child ratios.
- Ensure children are supervised and accounted for.
- Coordinate transitions between preschool and care.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and structured environment.
- Report operational concerns to the Director.
Staff Supervision & Leadership
- Supervise and support assigned staff.
- Communicate schedules, responsibilities, and expectations.
- Assist with staff scheduling and coverage.
- Monitor staff performance and compliance.
- Support staff onboarding and training.
- Conduct regular staff meetings.
- Address staff concerns appropriately.
Child Safety & Behavior
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all children.
- Follow appropriate supervision and behavior guidance practices.
- Monitor arrival and dismissal procedures.
- Follow emergency and safety protocols.
- Complete accident and incident reports.
- Report serious concerns promptly.
Compliance & Documentation
- Maintain accurate attendance and program records.
- Ensure required documentation is completed.
- Support NJDCF licensing compliance.
- Monitor required staff certifications and trainings.
- Assist with inspections, audits, and reviews.
- Maintain confidentiality of records.
Family Communication
- Serve as an on-site contact for families.
- Communicate program updates and reminders.
- Address routine parent and guardian questions.
- Escalate concerns when appropriate.
- Maintain positive, professional relationships with families.
Communication & Collaboration
- Communicate regularly with the Director.
- Collaborate with preschool teachers and staff.
- Report staffing, safety, and operational concerns.
- Attend required meetings and trainings.
- Support consistent program communication.
Administrative & Program Support
- Maintain organized site files and records.
- Monitor program supplies and materials.
- Assist with program activities and events.
- Support enrollment and registration as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Physical Demands:
Standing, walking, run/ jog (occasionally during program), leaning, bending, sitting. Must be able to lift 30lbs.
Schedule:
Monday - Friday
Before Care – 7:30 AM – 9 AM
After Care – 2:50 PM - 6PM
Compensation: $19 - $24 an hour (Commensurate with experience)
