The Music Curriculum Specialist is responsible for creating and developing high-quality, engaging academic content for students in the music classroom. This role requires excellent writing ability, attention to detail, problem-solving skills, a collaborative mindset, and adaptability to work on multiple projects concurrently. Candidates must live in or be willing to relocate to Middle Tennessee.
Key Responsibilities
- Writing, designing, and reviewing resources for the QuaverMusic website, including educational activities, lesson plans, units of study, assessments, and strategies for differentiation
- Researching and analyzing music, diverse cultures, and other related educational content
- Collaborating with other writers, musicians, teachers, culture bearers, software developers, audio engineers, and graphic artists
- Editing, proofreading, and applying feedback to revise work
- Correlating lessons and activities to national and state music standards
- Participating in professional development activities
- Must be a certified teacher and have a current teaching license
- Experience teaching general music classes in an elementary or middle school setting
- Certification or experience with a variety of educational strategies, methodologies, and theories related to music education, such as Orff-Schulwerk, Kodály, Music Learning Theory (Gordon), and Dalcroze
- Knowledge of curriculum-design models and educational strategies, practices, and theories related to general education, such as culturally responsive teaching and learning, universal design for learning, strategies for dual language learners, project-based learning, and Understanding by Design
- Experience conducting research, especially in the area of ethnomusicology
- Experience implementing modifications and accommodations for students who receive IEP services
- Experience teaching a culturally diverse population
Technical Skills and Attributes
- Familiarity with Google Suite software
- Familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud software
- Proficiency in music notation software
- Familiarity with one or more AI applications
- Ability to work collaboratively or independently depending on project needs
- Strong problem-solving skills

The Job Title role is not a remote work position. All employees must live within commuting distance of Music Row in Nashville. We are currently requiring all team members to work at minimum 3 days a week in the office on the QuaverEd campus and allowing 2 days remote. This requirement is subject to change at the discretion of the team member's Supervisor and company policies.
