Description

Summit Truck Bodies LLC, a quality manufacturer of custom designed service and lube bodies, is expanding its workforce. Summit Truck Bodies, located in Wathena, KS, is looking for a Manufacturing Programmer to operate and monitor robotic press brakes.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Import Bill of Materials into automated software.
  • Make programming adjustments in taught computer manufacturing software.
  • Verify parts are manufacturable and being made correctly.
  • Troubleshoot minor positioning errors or software glitches.
  • Maintains a clean and safe work area, maintains and wears all required personal protective safety equipment.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL ABILITIES:

  • Frequent mobility and/or sitting, standing, bending or stooping for prolonged/extended periods. 
  • Requires lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally.  
  • Requires stretching to reach items up to 50 pounds. 
  • Requires working in areas which are not ventilated or air-conditioned. 
  • Requires eye-hand coordination sufficient to operate machinery.
  • Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting, manual and finger dexterity.
  • Requires working under stressful conditions or working irregular hours.
  • Requires working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Requires a normal range of hearing and vision.
  • Must understand vague and implicit instructions and react favorably in all work situations. Must be able to communicate providing verbal feedback in a professional manner.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

  • High School diploma or equivalent. 
  • Valid driver's license with good standing MVR.
  • Prior experience in manufacturing machine operation or metal fabrication is a plus.
  • Ability to utilize a computer with basic software skills.
  • Knowledge in Google Sheets or Excel is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with constant demands and shifting of priorities.
  • Superior communication skills, both written and oral.  
  • Ability to successfully pass a General Abilities Assessment and Post-offer background check, physical and drug screening.
