At the VHA, we work closely with local governments and other community partners throughout Clark County to address issues of affordable housing and homelessness and help families break the cycle of poverty. We provide affordable housing and housing assistance to low-income residents in Clark County.
This Accounting Tech role focuses on Accounts Receivable and supports our mission through your skills and experience as you:
- Manage resident accounts, including researching discrepancies, posting adjustments, reconciling balances, and coordinating oversight with property management staff.
- Manage the collections process for former tenants, including payment agreements, bad debt tracking, and refunds.
- Ensure compliance with state laws regarding notifications to vacated residents.
- Invoice partner organizations for shared costs.
- Manage receivable accounts with other housing authorities, including receipting, collections, adjustments, reconciliation, and reporting.
- Generate, review, and reconcile invoices and payments for accuracy and compliance.
- Prepare tenant-related financial reports such as Rent Rolls, Vacancy Loss Journal, Aged Accounts Receivable, and Occupancy Reports.
- Maintain accurate records and schedules for all accounts receivable activity.
Pay and Benefits
- In compliance with the Equal Pay & Opportunities Act, the full wage range for this position is $23.57 - $33.00 per hour. The starting salary is determined by the role's required qualifications and the candidate's relevant experience.
- Full-time, non-exempt, OPEIU Local #11-represented position working 40 hours per week in-person/on-site, Monday - Friday.
- We offer a generous contribution toward health care: 100% paid for employees’ only medical and vision coverage, 85% paid for dependent tier coverage. 100% paid for dental.
- Up to 26 days of accrued paid time off annually in the first year (13 vacation/13 sick days), and 12 paid holidays.
- This position is required to participate in Washington PERS (Public Employee Retirement System).

- AA degree in accounting or related subject plus an additional two years of education or experience in accounting or related field required. Candidates who are actively pursuing a relevant bachelor's degree and are within six months of graduation would be considered to have met this requirement.
- Governmental, property management, affordable housing, or non-profit industry accounting experience preferred.
