We are currently seeking highly qualified CH-47F Maintenance Examiners (MEs) to support current and future Training Assistance Field Team (TAFT) programs worldwide. This position is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced U.S. Army Chinook aviation professional to continue serving the aviation community by providing maintenance test flight instruction, evaluation, mentorship, technical expertise, and advisory support to international partner-nation aviation organizations.
Position Summary
The CH-47F Maintenance Examiner (ME) serves as a senior aviation training and maintenance advisor responsible for providing instruction, evaluation, mentorship, and technical guidance to CH-47F Maintenance Test Pilots (MTPs), Maintenance Examiners (MEs), and aviation maintenance personnel.
The advisor will provide subject matter expertise in CH-47F maintenance test flight operations, aircraft systems, maintenance procedures, troubleshooting, fault isolation, maintenance evaluations, aircraft readiness, technical inspections, risk management, and aviation safety.
Working directly alongside international military aviation organizations, the Maintenance Examiner will assist partner-nation personnel in developing and sustaining safe, standardized, and effective maintenance test flight capabilities while promoting sound U.S. Army aviation maintenance and flight training practices.
The successful candidate will help develop partner-nation MTPs and MEs capable of safely conducting maintenance test flights, evaluating aircraft maintenance conditions, identifying discrepancies, and supporting aircraft return-to-service decisions in accordance with applicable technical data and program requirements.
Primary Responsibilities
- Serve as a CH-47F Maintenance Examiner Advisor to FMS partner nations.
- Provide technical instruction, evaluation, and mentorship to international CH-47F Maintenance Test Pilots (MTPs), Maintenance Examiners (MEs), and aviation maintenance personnel.
- Provide classroom and hands-on instruction covering CH-47F maintenance test flight procedures, aircraft systems, maintenance requirements, troubleshooting, inspections, and technical evaluations.
- Train and mentor partner-nation personnel in the planning, preparation, execution, and evaluation of CH-47F maintenance test flights.
- Provide instruction on maintenance test flight risk management, crew coordination, safety procedures, and applicable flight requirements.
- Assist partner-nation personnel in evaluating aircraft following maintenance, component replacement, corrective actions, inspections, and other maintenance activities.
- Mentor MTPs and MEs in identifying, troubleshooting, isolating, and evaluating aircraft maintenance discrepancies.
- Provide technical guidance on CH-47F aircraft systems, components, limitations, maintenance procedures, and applicable inspection requirements.
- Assist with complex aircraft troubleshooting and fault-isolation activities.
- Provide instruction on the interpretation and application of applicable CH-47F technical manuals, maintenance publications, regulations, work packages, and approved technical data.
- Provide instruction and mentorship on aircraft forms, maintenance documentation, inspection records, maintenance test flight documentation, and technical reporting requirements.
- Support the development and improvement of partner-nation MTP and ME qualification and training programs.
- Assist in establishing standardized maintenance test flight procedures and evaluation practices.
- Conduct or support maintenance test flight evaluations as authorized and directed by program leadership.
- Assist in identifying pilot, MTP, ME, and maintenance training deficiencies and provide appropriate corrective instruction and remediation.
- Advise aviation and maintenance leadership on aircraft readiness, maintenance effectiveness, maintenance test flight capability, training progression, and technical concerns.
- Support aviation safety programs, risk management, accident prevention, and mishap-reduction initiatives.
- Assist with aircraft inspections, maintenance evaluations, technical assessments, and aircraft readiness evaluations as directed.
- Support maintenance quality assurance and technical inspection activities.
- Provide mentorship on aircraft maintenance standards, technical compliance, and maintenance discipline.
- Assist partner-nation personnel in developing effective maintenance planning and scheduling practices.
- Provide guidance on the proper application of maintenance test flight procedures following significant maintenance actions.
- Assist with the development of ME/MTP lesson plans, training materials, presentations, practical exercises, and evaluation programs.
- Promote aviation safety, standardization, technical compliance, and sound maintenance practices throughout all advisory activities.
- Assist with aircraft induction, fielding, acceptance, modification, modernization, and operational sustainment activities as required.
- Conduct training and advisory activities in accordance with applicable U.S. Army regulations, technical manuals, aviation publications, safety requirements, and program directives.
- Foster strong professional relationships while supporting the objectives of U.S. Government Foreign Military Sales (FMS) programs.

Minimum Qualifications
- Former U.S. Army CH-47F Maintenance Examiner (ME) with documented experience serving in the role.
- Current or previously qualified U.S. Army CH-47F Maintenance Examiner (ME).
- Qualified in the CH-47F Block I aircraft; Block II experience preferred.
- Minimum 1,500 hours of total rotary-wing flight time.
- Minimum 300 hours as a CH-47F Maintenance Examiner (ME) preferred.
- Demonstrated experience conducting, evaluating, or supporting CH-47F maintenance test flights.
- Thorough knowledge of CH-47F aircraft systems, maintenance procedures, troubleshooting, and maintenance test flight requirements.
- Experience interpreting and applying U.S. Army aviation technical manuals, maintenance publications, regulations, and approved technical data.
- Demonstrated experience identifying, troubleshooting, and evaluating aircraft maintenance discrepancies.
- Strong understanding of aviation maintenance standards, maintenance test procedures, aircraft readiness, and flight safety.
- Experience providing technical instruction, mentorship, evaluation, or guidance to aviation maintenance personnel and/or aircrew.
- Strong instructional, communication, leadership, and mentorship abilities.
- Ability to identify training deficiencies and provide effective corrective instruction.
- Ability to work independently while serving as a trusted aviation maintenance and technical advisor.
- Ability to work effectively in international and cross-cultural environments.
- Ability to obtain and maintain required security clearances, passport, and visa requirements, as applicable to the assigned program.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience supporting Security Assistance Training Management Organization (SATMO) or Training Assistance Field Team (TAFT) programs.
- Previous Foreign Military Sales (FMS) aviation advisory experience.
- Previous experience supporting international military aviation organizations.
- Graduate of the U.S. Army Maintenance Examiner Course.
- Previous experience as a CH-47F Maintenance Test Pilot (MTP).
- Previous experience training, evaluating, or mentoring CH-47F MTPs or MEs.
- Previous Instructor Pilot (IP), Standardization Instructor Pilot (SIP), evaluator, or instructor experience.
- Significant experience conducting CH-47F maintenance test flights.
- Experience with complex CH-47F aircraft troubleshooting and fault isolation.
- Experience supporting CH-47F aircraft maintenance, fielding, modernization, or international aviation programs.
- Experience with aviation maintenance quality assurance, technical inspections, and maintenance evaluations.

- Previous experience working in AVUM, AVIM, or depot-level maintenance environments.
- Previous experience supporting U.S. Army aviation maintenance training organizations.
