We are seeking a Bilingual Prevention Initiative (PI) Assessor with experience in Early Childhood program rules, compliance, and assessment tools. The Prevention Initiative program, administered by the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE), offers child development and family support services to help prepare children for future academic success.
What Success Looks Like
Success in this role means managing thorough, high-quality programmatic compliance reviews from initial grantee engagement to final report submission. You will:
- Drive rigorous compliance & observational reviews: Execute accurate programmatic reviews and observational quality assessments using ITERS, FCCERS, and HOVRS tools to evaluate grantee adherence to ISBE standards and best practices.
- Maintain high-quality written work: Produce meticulous, accurate reports from completed compliance reviews, ensuring every finding is clearly documented and adheres to precision and strict quality standards.
- Foster collaborative grantee relationships: Conduct virtual preparation meetings, address grantee inquiries clearly, and serve as a reliable resource through every stage of the monitoring process.
- Engage in continuous quality improvement: Continuously refine evaluation fidelity, accuracy, and reliability while actively contributing to process development, team training, and organizational innovation.

- Conducting virtual preparation meetings with grantees to explain the monitoring process, documentation requirements, and instructions.
- Collecting, evaluating, and analyzing grantee data, documents, and field conditions against ISBE policies, administrative codes, and best practices.
- Conducting observational assessments using ITERS, FCCERS, and HOVRS tools to measure program quality.
- Preparing and finalizing accurate compliance and quality review reports within established timelines.
- Responding to grantee inquiries and engaging in process development, team training, and professional development seminars.
You’ll Thrive Here If
- You hold a Bachelor’s degree in early childhood development or early childhood education; a master's degree is preferred.
- You bring at least 2 years of supervisory experience in Early Childhood education, programs, or initiatives.
- You possess bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English.
- You have at least 2 years of certification or hands-on experience with HOVRS, ITERS, and PICC (certification is highly preferred).
- You have a solid understanding of Early Childhood program rules, compliance, web-based compliance software, and multi-step analytical instructions.
- You demonstrate extreme sensitivity to recording and transmitting confidential or Personally Identifiable Information (PII).
