GOH is a small management consulting firm supporting the federal government since 1997 (www.gohnow.com). We are seeking an energetic new team member with experience in Federal grants management to support our Office of Head Start client.
GOH is recruiting in anticipation of potential future openings that are subject to final approval and funding. No guarantee of position availability can be made at this time; however, candidate identification and preliminary interviews are being conducted to support timely hiring should authorization be granted.
The successful candidate will lead data systems architecture and integration efforts, supervise and manage data projects and the staff who support them, and ensure data-driven tools (including workflow and task tracking solutions utilizing Smartsheet) remain reliable, well-integrated with federal systems (e.g., HSES, AMS, GrantSolutions), and aligned with user needs.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee data projects using an iterative, flexible approach that prioritizes collaboration, incorporates user feedback, and prioritizes integration with existing federal grants systems
- Design, develop, and oversee maintenance of grants databases, reports, and other tools as needed to support efficiencies and process improvement
- Develop and maintain data pipelines and integrations between federal systems (HSES, AMS, GrantSolutions, TTA Hub) and contract tools, including APIs and data transformation/automation processes
- Test systems, lead test scenarios, and identify/document/remediate all issues?
- Create data governance models and metadata management systems to manage data from multiple sources/systems (e.g., Excel, Smartsheet, SQL, Power BI)
- Establish and track measures of progress and successful delivery of data management services
- Ensure key grant administration workflows and tasks are tracked, including maintaining and improving OHS Smartsheet processes
- Design and produce tools that surface data to support data-informed decision-making, including automated notifications and management information reports
- Develop and maintain documentation to support handoff and knowledge transfer for data projects, tools, and solutions
- Coordinate and collaborate across the team to assure that all work products content and functionality are of highest quality and informed with up-to-date information?
- Provide supervision, task direction, and support to other staff in data roles
- Coach team members effectively and address team member and client complaints and problems
- Attend weekly contract management and daily stand-up meetings as needed to support contract execution; Contribute to client progress and status reports (i.e., monthly reports, weekly registration metrics, etc.)?
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field required
- At least 10 years of relevant professional experience directly related to the duties above
- A minimum of 3 years of progressive supervisory experience
- High level of demonstrated advanced proficiency in utilizing and integrating a variety of web-based and commercial off-the-shelf data management software packages such as Smartsheet, SQL, Python, API development, AWS, Azure, Power BI, etc.??as well as Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint
- Demonstrated proficiency/experience successfully developing, implementing, and managing/improving complex, high-profile, multi-faceted data projects
- Demonstrated proficiency in database design, ETL processes, and data warehousing
- Data governance and security knowledge
- Federal information systems experience preferred
- Demonstrated ability to coach team members effectively
- Demonstrated proficiency communicating clearly, both orally and in writing
- Proven ability to address team member and client complaints and resolve problems
- At least 1 year of experience in early childhood education and/or Head Start programs highly preferred
- Ability to pass background investigations as required for access to federal facilities and systems; position requires Public Trust clearance
Work environment: The work environment is a virtual/remote setting.
Physical demands: The physical demands of the job include sitting for extended periods, and occasional walking and standing.
Position type and expected hours of work: This is a full-time exempt position. Typical work hours are Monday-Friday, 40-60 hours per week. Some job activities may be required outside of typical workdays/hours. Overtime may be expected during peak periods.
Travel: 5-10% local and regional travel, with overnight stays necessary
